So I am looking at ordering the Firm Feel power steering box for my Charger and thought I'd get the pump as well.

Firm Feel lists three different pumps (Saginaw, Thompson, and Federal), but only shows a picture of one. From a picture search, it looks like they are showing the Saginaw based on the shape of the top of the reservoir.

Do I need to order a specific one to mount properly? If so, how do I tell what I have? Seems like the Saginaw has a unique look, so it should be self explanatory, but how do I tell if I have a Federal or Thompson if it doesn't look like the Saginaw?

This is a federal pump. Not sure about a Thompson

Saginaw for your model....Are you getting the bracket too?

I have the original brackets and pump off my motor.

Come to think of it, I wonder if it would make sense to just send them my old pump and have them rebuild that one, since there is a core anyway.

Oh, and I did a little more reading this morning. Sounds like the Thompson is the TRW pump.

I talked to them last week or so and they said they didn't have pumps and I would send them mine, they would rebuild it and send it back.

Just wondering what the advantage would be, having pump rebuilt or exchanging for re-manufactured one, if it would be the same.

All depends on a cost comparison and the quality of the work done in the
"re-manufacturing process". If you are confident in the work of whoever is rebuilding it, let cost decide.

Are you looking at going with www.steerandgear.com ? I sent my steering gear and power steering pump to them a year or so back. They did a phenomenal job on mine and are a wealth of good information. I think I paid $125 to have my power steering pump rebuilt and $300 for the steering gear.

If you have a Saginaw pump, the rebuild kit is about 25 bucks. Takes 20 minutes to do, pretty damn easy.
