I know it' wiper linkage that came out of a 70 coronet, what I don' know is if this is for a 2 speed motor or 3 speed? The motor was not in the car neither was the dash. I have been searching for the past half hour on the net trying to figure out which this is. Maybe I've been searching the wrong words or phrases but now I'm asking for your help

I'm not sure but I think the linkage would be the same for both motor speeds. I think the motor would have to match the wiper switch, 2 speed switch for a 2 speed motor and that's all. It doesn't make sense to me that the linkage would be different. It's made to fit each model car and that's it! But then again, I still believe in logic! LOL

The linkage is different, how I don’t know I just know it’s different... to me that looks like a 2 speed just comparing to what came out of mine.

Thanks for correcting me. It's possible that one has a different mounting hole or bend to adapt it! Different manufacturer or something. That's why I said I'm not sure.

NP, like you said you’d think it would be the same, but that makes sense so that didn’t happen

thats called a wiper motor crank, it is different for a 2 speed to a three speed wiper motor. There should be a number on it.

If you are doing a conversion on a 70-71 E-Body or a 71-74 B-Body from a 2-spd. to a 3 or variable spd. motor, you will have to replace the wiper motor crank with part #2822289-(70-71), also the link from the motor to the driver's side pivot with part #2822293(70-71)or crank with part #3431518 and link #3431102 (72-74). You will need a variable speed switch ending with part number 3488380 (1970-71 Application: B,J CV, L Dash SW Bezel,PU2947792SOP,Ribbed) or part #3488380A (1970-71, Application: 1970-71 B,J CV, L Dash SW Bezel,PU3488406SOP,Smooth).

If you are doing a 2 to 3 speed conversion on a 68-70 B Body application, you will have to replace the wiper motor crank with part #2822273, 3 speed bushing part #2580200, and a 3 speed switch part #2864014. The rest of the linkage, wiring etc remains the same.

Thanks Moe, you just done me some learnin! In my 48 years of driving, I only had one wiper motor linkage problem and that was with a docking adjustment. As long as they worked, I didn't mess with them. Speaking of multi speeds, my favorite was on my first car, a 65 Dart Coupe. The wiper was variable speed and made more sense to me than 2 or 3 speed units. You could slow that thing down to damn near nuthin and didn't need delay wipe settings! That was the ONLY car I ever had with variable speed wipers. I miss them!

Funny story, when I first bought my 70 Charger the alternator was wired wrong. I didn't know until I drove in the rain, the faster I went the faster the wipers moved

That looks like a 3 speed crank arm, the 2 speed crank has a bigger hole compared to the 3 speed.
As already mentioned above, you will need a 3 speed motor and dash switch to make it work.
See below instructions for a bench test of the 3 speed wiper motor, might come in handy for you.
Found this on the forum a while ago when i was searching for the same.

3 speed wiper test‏

Bench testing procedure.

Test #1(Hi speed)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect second jumper wire from battery positive to BROWN lead.
Motor should run hi speed continuously.

Test #2 (Lo speed)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper wire from GREEN wire to battery ground.
Join BROWN and RED wires together and connect a jumper wire from battery positive to them.
Motor should run at slower speed.

Test #3 (Park)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper lead from GREEN to BROWN wire.
Connect jumper wire from red wire to ground.
Connect jumper wire from Blue wire to battery positive.
Motor should reverse and park.

(Depending on where the motor had stopped the park feature may have a full rotation or very short rotation

I appreciate all the (extra) information everyone is throwing out here and I don't intend to sound ungrateful. With that being said I never asked how to wire up wipers on this thread or what motor works with what switch. I only was trying to figure out if this bell crank/ linkage setup is for a 2 speed or 3speed setup. I know the part I have pictured is different between the two and I know if you use the wrong one for your application it may work but will bind causing premature failure on your motor. What I don't know is which setup this linkage/bell crank is for I've looked at pics for both 2 and three speed but under both examples I've found pics that look just like mine. I' not looking to buy new parts i just want to know for sure what the parts i have actually belong to.

The only semi readable number on the bell crank appears to be 2822 27. There appars to be a space between the first four and last two numbers.

if you look my post #6 toward the bottom you will see this number #2822273. All Mopar wiper motor cranks are a 7 digit numbers. your crank it is for a 3 speed wiper setup.

here is a closer look at the number I'm assuming that you are correct, thanks for the help.
