OE 68 Shifter Handle....some idiot put a torch to it an bent it to his desire....apparently. Well anywho, it was cheap and a single script font so here goes nothing. I little work in the press and it goes right back to where it was. Now just needs a plating job.

finally back at the fab work after the monarch lathe distraction. Rear frame is all welded in, time to fit the trunk floor pan.

So progress continues .... trunk floor pan is 100% prefit and the 275 ish plug weld holes are drilled and the mating surfaces marked where I need to clean them up before welding. All the flanges tweaked for good fit at the wheelhouses and extensions and the pan sucks down nicely to the frame rails for a good tight fit.

What a mess the AMD trunk pan extensions were. Spent a lot of time banging on those.....still more banging to go. For example the lower flange that attaches to the quarter panel have two hugely different bend angles. Not sure what angle is correct until I hang the quarters on there.

Meanwhile back at the ranch yalls may remember the dutchman is pretty well fit up and screwed into place. Rear window fit was checked, dutchman adjusted for it at least once and as well the trunk lid.

Now here is where I need some advice!

So I could easily weld the trunk floor pan down now and be done with it. BUTTTT Wouldn't it be best to get the trunk hinges in place and the trunk swinging first before I do that? I'm thinking better access with the trunk pan out

So here is what I'm thinking for path forward

Get the trunk hinges ready to go (need to patch some of the spot weld flanges where they were drilled out)

Install hinges (at least with screws)

Get the trunk swinging and make sure it is living happily with the old quarters and the new dutchman

Then install floor pan and possibly extensions

Then go after the quarters? What say ye?

Dang, that's lookin real good!! Installing the trunk lid and checking fit before welding up is always a good thing. When I put on my extensions the fit was iffy and I had to modify them quite a bit.
