The pressure hose on the Coronet is sweating p/s fluid from the hose. Time to replace it, but all the rebops look cheap. I've checked out Ebay, RockAuto, YO, Classic Industries. The collar crimp is way different from the OEM.

What have other members used when replacing the hose?

I've used PS hoses from rock auto and autozone on my old Mopar's and they work fine.

I bought a couple when I replaced my steering box because the one that was on it was about 3 feet and way too long. All the ones I bought, weren't correct. So I had one made at a hydraulics shop here in town. Cut ends off new ones that would work with right bend and meadured hose length, gave them the info and done perfect fit and much better hose in the end.. (That didn't sound right, lol)

Good luck! Hopefully you've got a shop you can check with..

Got mine from Steer and Gear.

I asked around and found a local shop that makes them. They press off the original ends, replace the rubber and press the old fittings back on. That way you know it will work with your setup. Contrary to popular belief, most NAPA,s do not make power steering hoses any longer. They may be able to point you in the direction of a shop that does.

I also used a local shop to make a new hose, its rated so high on pressure, that its almost bullet proof! LOL, about the same cost as an aftermarket one, but much better quality!

Thanks everyone. I'll look into S&G, and also the hydraulics route.
Part of the issue is questioning the quality, but the other side is I don't like the look of the rebop crimps. Just being picky...

I bought mine from laysons restorations. They are a fbbo sponsor.
Not an exact reproduction, but much better than the one O'Reilly had.
If I had to do over I'd get the originl rebuilt by a hydraulc shop.

Ok well mine landed today, I ordered the pipe for the Federal pump which is on my engine the pipe is different than what’s on my car. My car was originally a 318, the 383 in it is a 68 so it’s unlcea if the pipe or pump where changed at any point. I’m not surprised really with my car, nithis is ever straight forward with it.I’ll offer it up later and see how it fits.

Here are some images of the pipe and how it came...

thanks for the pics. And actually, the hose fittings look really good, very close to OEM. More than likely, the low-res image in the online catalogs don't do the product justice.

No problem, pipe seems ok and will fit. I haven’t fit it yet just rebuilt the pump this evening have to get some hose for the return feed (had to cut other one off) and refit it all tomorrow.

Any particular hose type that’s best to be used?

I had to do the same thing with my return hose. When I get home tonight I'll look for any markings.

Decided to use a local hydraulic repair shop. Had to call four - the first three didn't do automotive because of the liability. Doesn't look exactly stock, but the crimps are vertical like the OEM instead of barrel shape. And the lowest rated hose they offer is 3000 psi; factory specs are 1050 psi, so it should be good for a while. Installed over the weekend and test drove about 50 miles and no leaks. On to the next project..
