Nice. Looks like it was an “early” car. I don’t know what your plans are for the restoration but you may want to keep that in mind when you source parts. There were running changes throughout the year to things like tail lights, door handles, shifter knobs, etc.

Nice job on them seats.
Yeah if you would have a picture of the latch would be highly appreciated.
I probably do the seats next winter.
Where did you buy the materials for the seats?
I found a place close to me that sells the foam padding but that is 1 piece foam without the need of cutting and adding differents materials together like yours.

Wow it is indeed, how can you tell? Since the car is so original and everything is there I would like to keep it as original as possible.

Round hole in the panel where the filler neck leads to the gas tank plus the tulip style shifter. Both indicate “early”.

Can't forget the handy parts car. Just a couple random pictures I found..including weathering last winter.

Ok. I’ll go off topic.... we tried researching a transition time on those but didn’t make much progress. Have you been able to narrow down an approximate date for the change?

I've used this forum the last year for some great advice and know how but I just now decided to join. I'm sure I am a heck of a lot younger than most people on this forum so I'm ready for some more schooling on these cars. Picked this car up a few years ago wanting a restoration project. All original, but needs some love.

My first car. Got it in 73 when I was below drinking age myself.
But not an RT.
Loved that car.

Howdy.

That one is for my brothers 69 R/T. Not sure of the build date but i know he looked for a long time before finding one right under his nose. I will ask on the build date.

Sorry for the off topic also-but may be relevant to the OP.

Edit. 10-24-68 build.
