I am building a 65 Coronet and plan to use a Hemi scoop and cutting the hood for it to be functional. Question is, has anyone else come up with a functional air cleaner that would be able to take advantage of the scoop.
I would like it to be functional but I will not be racing the car and it will be a fair weather car.
Thanks All

I'm building one for my 65 Belvedere. I fabbed the scoop from a bad hood and plan to glue/tack weld just the corners for attachment. On the good hood I cut a 4" larger than hole (in skin) in the reinforcement and boxed the cuts off (

do not weld to the hood skin). I will fab a air box from aluminum to seal the hood skin to the lower air cleaner base. By cutting the top angle of the box to match the hood to carb included angle I will be able to attach a flange to the top edge of the air box and add a thin strip of foam for the seal. I'm using a 16" x 4" air cleaner assembly.

Nice work

I have a Hemi scoop as well on my 67 and have been thinking about which one would optimize all of that air and do it with out building a pan/box .
I found this from Uni which looks like it may work for my application.

I cut the hole in the hood skin 2" larger than the air filter OD. as the filter extends above the hood and the cutback in the reinforcement 4" larger than the skin hole. This gives me room for the air box to seal to the bottom of the hood skin.
