Does anyone know where I can get regular spray cans in original Mopar colors. I need RR-1 Burgundy Metallic. I found touch up bottles, but no spray.

PPG: 50749
Dupont: 4885LM,4885H,4885DM
Acme Rogers: 5490
Martin Senour: 1772
Sherwin Williams: 99062 RM-BASF: A1965F,E1965F

Our local body shop supply company can load any color into spray cans, but it's not cheap. I think they said it was like $18.95 a can. Do a search for Auto Body Supply companies in your area.

It will help if you can bring them a sample though. I just asked ours if they could make me a can of 1968 LL1 Turquoise and they said there were multiple codes for that color. Each is just a little different. I don't know why they do that, but it is common. I don't know if the factory got different batch lots of paint and they were all slightly different or what, but I know it's not uncommon. He told me some of the GM colors for a particular code have up to 10 different recipes for a specific paint code. Differences are probably slight, but if you are trying to match something, it matters.

Formula match is not guaranteed.

Color camera match pretty much is unless they don't know what they're doing.
It also compensates for fading.

Contact Totally Auto. Dave is a mopar restorer and guarantees his spray cans will match. I purchased a can of B7 that was spot on.

My local PPG has a sign that says they mix spay cans.

Our local PPG supplier will put any mix into a rattle can also. I believe the last one I bought was around $13. Have also heard a lot of good things about Totally Autos stuff, but haven't used any.

WOW! I may have to check with the Walworth Wis. store next time I need some.

Preval sprayers are about $10 and can spray custom mixed paint.

Well, after making some calls... PPG and Sherwin Williams are about $25/can, and Totally Auto has ceased it's custom paint line (I'm assuming that means OEM paint options from the old'n days... not sure). I'm going to do a little research on the Preval system. Does anyone have any experience - good or bad - with Preval?

Worked great for me. I don't know what you are painting but clearly no spray can is going to do a good job on a large panel

Oh heck no... I'm just doing little stuff (battery tray, brackets, etc, etc)

My local paint store mixed me some extra B5 blue for my roll cage and put in aerosol cans. I primed, painted & cleared. Way too difficult to drag the air hose around the inside of the car with a paint gun. The air hose just screws up tubes you already painted. The match was perfect. They even mixed me up a quart so I could respray my engine compartment also.
