Coolant % in a warm/hot climate?

Well driven 500ish HP street 440 here...180° (maybe a 185°) thermostat and 50/50...100° plus temps a regular thing june-sept and no issues. Properly maintained/equipped cooling system is the biggest 'must', if that is good the coolant mix and thermo temp can be experimented with, to some extent, to determine best efficiency for your particular setup and driving conditions

Does anyone run a coolant filter with built in protection package to maintain your coolant.

IMHO a waste of money on a car. 100,000 mile a year semi’s? Yes.

When I lived in CA.'s central valley, I used like a gallon of A-freeze and the rest H2O just for the corrosion control only. Throughout the year we may have had like a weeks worth of frosty nights, but nothing super freezing cold with a 180* stat.
You need to have some kind of corrosion control even if running straight distilled water. Good Luck

I run close to 50/50 green coolant and distilled water with a bottle of Purple Ice. 180* Robertshaw thermostat, mechanical 17" 6 blade Mopar fan with Mopar shroud, Griffin 2 tube aluminum radiator. Lincoln, CA. Coldest winter temperature about 30*. Hottest summer temperature about 112*, with most summer days well over 90*. Daily driven built 440 with Vintage Air. No overheating problems...

I run 50/50 in everything because we get lots of-40 temps here. Many a hobby car has cracked a block because even though it was only driven in the summer it was inadvertently frozen in the winter during storage.
