I thought I’d start this post to document what I’ve done and plan on doing to 69 Super Bee. A little back story, I’ve wanted a 69 Super Bee since I was 16. My dad still has his 69 Roadrunner that was his first car he got when he was 15. So I guess you could say I grew up on mopars. Going to shows and always watching my dad work on his car. At 30 I finally got my dream car. I was on the look for about two months and found this automatic 383 bee in Kansas City, Mo. my dad and I flew out to take a look at the car and it was just beautiful as the pictures.

It did have a few things that the car was missing such as a fuel tank vent and transmission kick down as well as the parking brake cable and rear drum parts to set the brake. The drivers door handle didn’t work and the transmission had a leak. All pretty easy fixes. We took it for a test drive and purchased it the next day. Once we got it home the work began.
First we addressed the fuel vent issue, after that we moved onto the drivers door. We found once we pulled the door panel a bolt that holds the mechanism in place was loose. We routed the cable for the emergency brake and luckily my dad still had the rear drums off of his car and we were able to snag a couple parts out of them that were missing in mine. I’ve learned never throw away or sell any parts being pulled off the car. You never know when you might need them again. The trans leak was coming from the pan bolts pinching the gasket.
