Anyone have pictures of the engine bay of there 68 GTX ?
Yes from what I have found out but I don't have that valve cover. I have to use what I have.shouldn't '68's have the heater hoses running thru a bracket attached to the valve cover? '69's had the bracket on the inner fender panel.
Did your heater hoses come attached to the inner fender even though the right valve cover has the bracket on it ? Also is that your water temp sending unit beside the upper rad. hose. O n my das 68 the water temp sending unit is behind the alternator bracketMine...no A/C, and correct air cleaner for my build date. Note the correct valve cover for 68.
This pic was taken a few years ago. I have cleaned up a few things since then. Rad cap, plug wires, rad hoses

Yea a none mopar guy can do some stupid things to a mopar. I see yours has white seats. Do you know if the right valve cover is hard to find. My dads 68At the time of purchase, it had aftermarket valve covers and the PO used the bracket from a 69 screwed to the inner fender. I did get the correct valve covers and correct bracket that snaps into the pass valve cover, but I took this pic before I finished the conversion over. Subsequently, I went back to aftermarket V/C's and used the 69 bracket again.
Yes, that is an aftermarket water temp sender next to the lower part of the rad hose. I installed that one soon after I purchased the car.The placement where your Dad's sender is correct...I still have my stock one hooked up there as well.

And I have since taken out that stupid Summit Ford Mustang tach (installed by PO) lol
That's a good question. Anyone ?Our 68 had a shorter bracket, not the long one. Not sure if it was an original or not. The 67 I'm working on now has a short bracket and it is the original one to the car.
Any idea what cars got the long vs short heater hose clip?
The shorter one is for the Non-AC cars where the taller or longer one is for the AC equipped cars. These were found on some 67s and should be factory original for all of the 383/440 equipped 68 B-Bodies .
Just looking to see if I have the right things on it. I figured out that I have the right air cleaner for it. I just put the right painted valve covers on except for the right side valve cover. I think its for a A/C car. It doesn't have the heater hose bracket on the valve cover
