I'm new today. I have had 55 Mopars over the years and currently have a 72 Satellite Sebring Plus 400, a 74 Duster and a 60 Chrysler Windsor. I recently came across a 79 300 with T-Top.
I am not sure it is a real 300 so I have some questions for you experts:
It is Black with red interior. Supposedly original. Possible or not?
it has a 1/2 vinyl top with beauty trim and opera lights across the top behind the T-Top
No side "gill plates or tri-color band under opera window.
The dash says Cordoba above the glove box. Is that right?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I don't have a clue, but WELCOME here!
Someone'll know...

The 300’s only came in white & red interior. Goggle images will help set you right.

Magnums and 300’s are a little hard to come by but not impossible. An excellent condition unit may be very hard to find.

The VIN for a '79 300 will start with "SS22L9R".

Welcome from coastal Georgia.
:usflag:

They made approximately 200 Chrysler 300s with a T-Top in 1979

Welcome aboard and thanks for joining the forum!

BTW: Beautiful Cars!

Try to find the trifecta of Magnums, G.T., T-tops and E-58 (Police Package). Chrysler 300's are around but like it was said earlier Magnums are the one to find.

not intended as a Q&A tech section

good luck
Happy Moparing

Welcome, and as said, only white with a few red ones. And identified by the vin as correctly noted earlier.

There is a '79 Cordoba for sale in your state with VIN SS22J9R134494. That is not a 300, but it looks like a nice car. It is odd that it has the 300 cross bar grill. Maybe the car was in an accident?

Anyway, that car looks very nice for 123,000 miles...but it has been up for sale awhile. Me thinks $8,500 is a bit steep anyway you cut it.

I see I'm not the only one who has done that! I put the 300 grill in my yellow Ttop 79 about 20 years ago and pulled my camper with it, 360 did the job!I sold it at Iola. Yes I agree I'm thinking $7.500 for mine and its a real Ttop 300 from Texas, with original paint!
