I am thinking of ordering a 69 six pack hood for the Bee. I was leaning toward an AAR quality hood. But I have heard the company changed hands and their quality sucks now. So who do you guys recommend to buy a hood from?

As far as I know AAR is still a Stinger fiberglass product. I bought my AAR glass hood & scoop in early 2015. It is a top quality piece. Strong and needed almost no finish prep. If they are the same company now, I would say you're not likely to find a better quality product. They aren't the lightest or cheapest, but not the most expensive either.

I got mine from Pentastar Reproductions a few years ago.

BTW, I should have mentioned my AAR hood is a hinge type, which accounts for some of it's weight. Pin type are lighter.

I bought an AAR (now Stinger) back in 2006 for my 69 Coronet R/T. It fit perfect. Once painted in the correct organisol it looked awesome (I thought).

I've noticed that the stinger / aar hoods ('69 RR) have the shallow bulge in front of the scoop like Basket case. Glasstek looks "flat", does not have anything in front of the scoop. Is one more correct?

I may need to get a 6 pack hood in the near future and have been looking at both.

if you look at a stock steel hood from a Belvedere or Satellite hood, this area is present. If you want factory looking, then you want this type, the original '69 1/2 A12 road runners had this.

Yes, I did recognize the Satellite hood aspect but didn't know that was factory correct for A12 cars (I have a 383 car). I think I like the other version better, my cars not stock and this type of hood would work for my next upgrade. I like the plainer look with fewer lines. Do you use the hood patch & pins?

hood patch?
and do your car to make you happy!

I do. you can get a true lift off, where you don't use the hinges either, but I got a hinged type. And I use the latch and safety catch.I didn't wanna be one of those guys that remembers the hood pins when the hood flies off when I hit second.....
