Thanks to FBBO member '68 Charger, my inner front fenders for the stock car came in today! These are critical to tying the stock radiator support into the cowl, and allow me to mount the hood like it was originally. I will have to modify them to fit around the crash bars and fabricate bead rolled inner panels to go from these to the Loughlin chassis. Thanks again Bryan!

I'm almost starting to think that I may know what the hell i'm doing! The inner front fenders required only minimal modification to fit. I only had to cut a half round notch out of the back edges of the lower step to fit around the down tubes to make them fit! I can't believe how well the stock Charger pieces are fitting!

I dug out a pair of hood hinges yesterday for the car. I have to check out the inner fenders for tire clearance, I might have to mini tub them. I am hoping that the hood hinges have enough room to collapse if I do have to tub them. I am considering going with an air bag suspension so I can get enough ground clearance to drive the car on the street. I may setup the car so I can swap back to the coil springs for track use. The TTI headers should arrive sometime this week.

Like this project. It will be cool as hell once done.

This project is way outside the box for me, as I am sure that your Challenger is for you. I am used to building relatively stock restorations. I am enjoying all the new and amazing aftermarket parts that I can get brand new! Your Challenger is amazing ! This project will be a real learning curve for me!

I modified a pair of factory hood hinges to fit behind the crash bars. I was going to get aftermarket billet hood hinges, but there is not enough room for them to fit behind the crash bars. I had to remove the springs from the factory hinges and cut off the mounting tabs for the springs so the hinges would fit behind the crash bars. I will have to use a prop rod to hold the hood up when I need to open it. I made a prop rod for my 71 Challenger convertible, which has a fiberglass Challenger T / A hood on it. I used a piece of electrical conduit which fits over the factory hood pin. I drilled a hole in the conduit so the hood pin clip fits through the conduit. On the other end of the conduit I put another hood pin, and drilled a hole through the conduit and the hood pin and secured it with a cotter pin. I put the pin on the top of the conduit through the hood pin hole in the hood, and then slipped the bottom of the conduit over the hood pin on the car and secured both ends with hood pin clips. This works great for my Challenger convertible so I think it will work for the stock car too!

When is the FITECH going on the hemi? I’m thinking about that or the Holley on my street Hemi.

I have about half of the funds saved up to send the engine to the machine shop. Once it goes to the shop and he goes through it and assembles the Edelbrock top end kit. we will setup the FiTech setup and tune and dyno the engine. I'm hoping for sometime in May.

Well I found out today that they shipped my headers somewhere else! Hopefully I will find out what happened too them tomorrow!

I still don't know what happened to the headers! UPS is saying that they were delivered to my house, and they left them by the side door, only I don't have a side door! I have had about twenty five packages of parts shipped to me since I got the car in February, and I got everything but this package without any problems! I got a nice pair of 70 Charger R /T door scoops in today, that I bought from a Moparts member, and they were exactly as described by him! I was going through a closet the other day and I found a new pair of emblems for them! Score!

Well after some detective work that would impress Columbo,I was able to locate and recover my missing TTI headers! Due to a one digit typo on my address they sent them to the only rental property in my neighborhood, where they could disappear! I found them on Craigslist in the town where the tenants moved too! They said a guy who helped them move took them,After we exchanged some pleasantries they were returned tonight!

I have a new theme song for this event! Look up the band,Ugly Kid Joe,and watch the video for the song "Neighbor"

That’s pretty crazy, glad you tracked them down!

After a few phone calls, where I exchanged pleasantries, I was able to retrieve the missing headers! I want to thank Mancini Racing, TTI, and UPS for their help,as well as my other neighbors who helped me crack the case! I know that Mancini Racing, and TTI were already making me another set of headers, so I am sorry that it came to that ,but atleast no one is going to lose anything! It reallysucks that this can happen right across the street from me! One digit off on the address, and they were sent to the only rental property in the direct vacinity of my house! Here are the pictures of the returned headers! I'm celebrating cinco de mayo today!
