I have a 73 charger I took out the originals they were no good. I purchased some aftermarket belts 3-point the problem with them I have is that they don't go on my shoulder they go on my neck.
The picture below shows an 8 in from the b-pillar I'm wondering if anyone has one of these in their car and let me know if it goes more on the shoulder. Is it worth buying or just leave mine the way they are.

It should help but it still won't be perfect (I think GM made a longer one but I don't know application). The problem is where the mount point is. I don't think you have the option of relocating the mp to the b-pillar on a Charger SE - not much holding it in place and I don't think you have any depth. The factory work-around was to put a guide on the seat in the later 70s Bs.

The other option would be buckets from something like a sebring convertible, which have an integral belt.

Stock 74 system gets that kind of long sash from factory ( can't recall the lenght ). However the 74 attaching point is diff from 71/73. Will need to fit an attaching point on roof for it

Of course the 74 system uses a diff setup with dual retractors. The shoulder belt retractor hides down the lower interior quarter panel. 71/73 will need to be set up quit diff, with retractor on floor and find the way to fit the lap section at a side

My other option is when I redo the front seats I have them fabricate a piece in each seat kinda like the red seats .

Hi Doug. I have same Charger(even same colour), my shoulder belt was separate and could be optional. Was your original like that?

Hi yes mine was just like yours it didn't work very well so I purchase some after market ones and really didn't think much of till I'd seen other kinds the last year or so. I said wait a minute you mean i can get a different kind that doesn't choke me lol. I was in such a hurry to get new ones in when I purchase the car 2 years ago so my grandson could go for rides.
