I bought my '79 300 brand new and the dealer had already applied the polyglycoat treatment. The paint still looks great after all of these years. Of course, keeping it waxed (no cleaner waxes) and in the garage helps too.

If I recall, it was false advertising, because people didn't wax their cars afterward.
 
I would use the carnauba over everything else. Put it on commercial equipment and then washed it like any other heavy equipment. The shine and the paint outlasted any other paint for over a year longer.
 
I use surf city black max.
works great on a black car and is easiest to buff to a shine.
