After picking up this RR, (69, 383), i w nt to change where exhaust exits....the tailpipes just turn down right before the rear bumper. Im wanting chrome tips just PAST the rear bumper.....prefer rectangle shape.....do i have to replace the entire tailpipes? Is there a "tip kit" i can retrofit?
Thanks in advance

I own cars with both styles.. and prefer my turn downs to the tips but to each their own.

You'll need tips, new hangers and "Q" clamps.

I can put straight tips on the ends that turn down?

No, you'll have to cut off your tail pipes to fit the chrome tip length and get the correct new hangers for same. They use a special Q clamp if you want to do it OE correct, or just use regular clamps if you don't care.

Excuse my French Justin!! LOL, I had to buy them from Frank for my '70 Bird.. figured they went on all chrome tips. Something I'd never put on my '69 ..

lol.....

I wish they did come on the earlier cars......I personally like the clamps....

Franks are close...but not 100% correct.......Word on the street is ECS is making a 100% correct set...

I like the turned down tail pipes too... gives it a sleeper look.

I like them too, except for how they blow dust all over the car when backing up, or create a dust cloud that goes all over everyone else's cars when you go by!

Road Runner tips are oval,Dodge tips are rectangle.

Could you put up a pic of what you have? What size are your pipes?

I may be interested in the downturns for my Newport when you cut them off (I would need the whole section from the rear end back)

speaking of yuck...

I like the straight pipes with the bumpers cut out like the trucks

Check my age,, I did it both ways & like the turndowns better. Just my opinion. On mine turndowns were factory, I was younger when I tried the tips.

Turn downs are great will do them if I don't do the straights.
