Flowmaster Exhaust system

I plan to try something a li'l different than norm. I have Schumacher tri y shorty headers. And am buying Black Widow mufflers. They have a site where you can punch in various engine sizes to hear a recording of each. Kinda cool. I like the raw sound. It seems to go with a Mopar with attitude .

I came to like the Walker line and used the ultra mufflers when my pipe was 3.5. When I stepped it up,had a 4 inch stainless system fabricated with an "X" and tailpipes.Used the Hooker aerochambers and I really like the sound, but I think the X had something to do with it.It's quiet enough that we van have a conversation when we are cruising down the road, but when the the loud pedal is applied it does get loud.I am installing a cut out this winter to see if the restriction is slowing me down. The car has been 9.3 at almost 147 mph. That was with only 6 lbs of boost.Wonder what 10 lbs will do and then what will happen when the cut out is opened,we will see if it picks up some.

I like those black widow as well, sound good

Well, I have it narrowed down to 2. I am either going with the full Pypes system, OR the TTI H Pipe and Dynomax mufflers and the tail pipers from Summit.
I am leaning more towards the Pypes system. I have been having a debate in my head about the X pipe, I was not sure I would like the looks as I was used to an H pipe, but since it is going under the car, I just might give into the dark side.

The x pipe is good but the Pypes exhaust will need a lot of work to fit right and not hang too low. At least that's the way it was on my A body. The extra cost will be offset by all the labor saved... IMO.

I have 3" TTI w/X pipe on both my Belvedere and Cuda. Both were installed in my garage with the cars on jack stands. The install for both was straight forward. The fit is nice and does not hang low. Paid a few more dollars for TTI stuff but the fit was worth it for me.

At least from what some say in here the Pypes system is good, yet I have seen people say they had to adjust the TTI system also.....hard to make a choice!

Here is my 440 with 1 7/8 primaries and 3” to 40 series 2 chambers with turn downs at the axle. Version 2.0 will be x pipe with black windows. My buddy got them for his dart and they sound wicked with no drone at all. My flows have some much drone I feel like I’ve got a head cold. Lol

yea, I have already ruled out the flowmasters....I'm ALMOST making a decision.

I understand that saving some money is appealing but its not worth it. The Chevy tail pipes was the worst part, couldn't make them fit right! :BangHead:
I just scanned through the thread again and found one other person who has the Pypes system.
I used a Pypes all stainless pipe system. I looked for a set of used TTI headers for my 472 Hemi. I could not bring myself to pay the price for new TTI anything way too expensive. If i where to do it again I would buy flow master. Why?? The fit is great every time I get flow master and their stainless kits are always 1/2 the price of BORLA which i put on my hemi challenger 2014. I would look fo r4 a used set of tti headers. I found the Hemi variety on ebay for 375.00. It is out their.

Moparfan, what did you go with, I’ve read so much it’s hard to decide.

I went with Doug's headers, an X pipe, 3 inch pipes and Dynomax Ultra Flos. I LOVE the sound of the Flowmaster 40's but my experience is that they do not flow as well as the Ultra Flos, and I need all of the performance I can get. I am 100% satisfied with my setup. It's not the loudest setup you can have but it performs and that's the most important part to me...

When I had a 3.5 inch exhaust I had the Ultra flow mufflers. They were not noisey which I liked. My good friend has the complete TTI system and their headers on his roadrunner. They fit the car well, but a few plugs are a PITA to get to!I never liked the flushmasters, they always had that drone:screwy:
I now have a stainless 4 inch exhaust with an "X" pipe, hooker aerochamber mufflers and tail pipes out the back bumper. No more FUMES in the car!:bananadance:

:welcome: aboard myk, glad to see you joined.
Sorry about your car.

I ended up with the TTI system. The mufflers are on the quite side, but they will work for me. Had to make up an extension for the H pipe as it did not fit correctly.
