Losing Oil Pressure 505

I’ve ran a hose on the dart for years and never had any issues.

What brand of hose is it? I was just reading in an PRI Magazine about using quality hoses and fittings. If it was a cheap Chi-Com hose that may be your problem.
Trust me it's got me thinking... We've had our share of oiling issues with disastrous results.

I don't know if I would do hard line... lessens from the Mower business, Hard line don't take to vibration very well.

At least you found something "out of the norm"
& not just chasing your tail still...

IMHFO;
I think I'd just do what IQ52 said
use a Teflon lined AN -12 hose

I had solid lines on most all my racecars
I never had any issues/ever
even cars with no suspension solid mounted engine, rear etc.

but if you think that maybe an issue
go with a quality brand Teflon lined AN hose & fittings

good luck

Hey guys, it was just Summit brand hose with Summit brand fittings. Not 100 % on who makes them, but I've never had an issue with them until now... Either way lesson learned. I'm happy this happened during break in and not when I'm going across the finish line at 6500+ rpm... Also I do not have an oil cooler or a oil temp gauge, but I wish I shot the pan with the thermometer to see. The car got hot fast when I was doing my break in and had to shut it off half way though for it to cool down a bit. Its a drag race application and the block is filled so I could see oil temp rising fast.

Metal line may be fine...It's just they can crack so I don't trust them.

I'm running Summit hoses also. That's making me wonder. I'll bet they are Chi-Com hoses.
Budnicks is right.. I'm going Teflon lined.

I think it has to do with twisting/bending. Just a gentle bend in it to connect to the Indy pump rear inlet. Mine is probably 10 years old. It does have heat sleeve around it as it is about an inch from the header tube.
