Hi all,
We've just got our 'new' Koffel 493 engine fitted to our 69 Sport Satellite, and while we're still a bit worried that the taller Edelbrock Performer RPM inlet may cause interference with the stock air filter and hood, one thing we hadn't thought about was whether the extra height would cause a problem with the standard throttle cable?
It's the original cable that worked with the original 318 and then the 440 (with non-RPM type Performer inlet) that we had in there for the best part of 30 years, but now the stroker with taller inlet is there, it looks like it could do with being approx 1 inch longer.
The bracket it sits on is one we bought specifically to fit with this combo, but that was when we had the previous, shorter inlet.
Is this a problem that anyone else has had? Or are we over looking something?
If it is a genuine problem due to the taller inlet, is there a longer cable available? Or is there an acceptable way of extending what we have?
Thanks in advance for an (useful ) suggestions,
Robert
