Nice!
Mr Gaines

I would say the over all was about the same. The Autocross area grew larger. The Optima Battery display took some space from the Show Car area but there was plenty of room. The Swap Area grew by 120 feet gaining 6 more spaces,Several spots were empty because of no-shows,so overall it looked like there was less attending. I do think foot traffic was lighter this year. Racers are always in full swing. I had fun because you get to see and hang out with people that you only see once a year.

Heading home for San Jose. Pahrump, then Death Valley, Ridgecrest/China Lake area now. Tehachapi tomorrow, Bakersfield. Stovepipe Wells Saloon had 20 on Draft!

Partial summary. Highest mpg was 15 on an economy run at 60 mph fearing we would not make it to the next gas station. Added 1 quart motor oil. About 1,100 miles so far. Stop reading if you don't want to hear me bitch.
Went from snow on Carson Pass to 100 degrees in Las Vegas. WTF. Then there is the desert wind. Love Nevada. Wide open spaces. Vegas, not so much. Anyone here stay at the Hampton on E Craig? To get to the track, left Berg, left Craig, left 15 north. Truck traffic backs up on Berg, can't get out of hotel lot. Then a long red. Then 2 signals to 15 second one drops on approach. 3rdcar in line, inside left lane. Arrow drops and the goddam fool in front of me brakes, then takes it. Indecisive ***. The 18 wheeler on the right took the red and I went with him on the inside. WTF. Construction EVERYWHERE in the Las Vegas area. Craig road off ramp south bound reduced to one lane. NO active construction. Not explainable. The Show itself was fine. The weather, construction, and general congestion in La Vegas may be more trouble than it is worth. May skip it next year. The AC in the Coronet got too cold too. One more thing, it is dissapointing when talking with other owners how FEW are aware of FBBO or their car history.
Herlitz designer, sure-grip vs Posi, terms like Coke Bottle, 71 up fuselage etc.

Now that they changed it to muscle instead of Mopars, how many other brands are showing up? Looks like mainly Mopars to me from the pictures.

Highway 14 California. Must see. Red Rock.

Tehachapi Pass. Always gusty with ominous clouds. Highway 58.

1520 total trip miles. Throw out bearing started to howl leaving Ridgecrest. Disconcerting and loud, but clutch worked perfect the rest of the way home.

First time at MATS for me and my son, had a good time watching the racing on Saturday.
Saw Dennis H and some SD Mopar club members who made the trip. Took a few pics.....

Yep, that is why I tried to get some good shots of him on the strip. Looked for him in the pits but I could not find him. Fast car although the DA was high on Saturday he was still running 10.50's

At the last minute I had to cancel. My back went out again. The second year in a row this has happened. I called the Downtown Grand to cancel my reservation on Wednesday morning and was told I would have to pay for one night. After explaining my situation they just cancelled the room no charge.

Sorry I missed it, thanks for all the pictures, will try again next year. Or maybe do Spring Fling in Van Nuys instead.

Since my traveling days are behind me I'm living vicariously through others on this forum. Thanks to all for posting. It looked like a lot of fun despite the traffic, weather, and cheap Chinese parts that howl.
