I'm looking for any classic Bay Area Mopar Clubs in the San Jose Area. While I live in Santa Cruz, that'll be the closest location I'm guessing. I think there is a Bay Area Challenger group that seems to travel the coffee and cars circuit on Saturdays that seems very active. Any old school groups?

Mopar Alley used to be active when I lived in Santa Clara.
I was a member of the Monterey bay mopar club which became the central coast mopar club. I miss those guys.

Yes, I was active with Mopar Alley as well. The meetings were literally 3 minutes from my house but that was many years ago and as the song goes, "that old gray mare ... she ain't what she used to be". We had a lot of fun back then but inevitably, membership & cars change.

Bill, do you remember Chuck & Karen McGill from the Monterey Mopar Club? Btw: I could have sworn I heard a couple of years ago that Monterey re-formed.

sxarnold, outside the clubs mentioned above, the next closest Mopar clubs are Wine Country Mopars (not sure of their status these days), San Joaquin Mopars in Madera & Capital City Mopars here in Sacramento. Back in the day, we used to attend all four of these club's shows each year. Good times.

I do remember Chuck and Karen. It's been 25 years, or longer since I seen them. I hope they are well.

Thanks. I'll research and reach out to see the status of these clubs. There is a Saturday coffee and cars at the Starbucks at 41st Ave in Santa Cruz but few Mopars so guys to chat with

Not a club, but Bay Area Classic Mopar has a cruise every 3 months - the next will July 28th. (one was last weekend). You can find them on Facebook groups

Alex is organizing these and he is doing an awesome job - they are getting bigger and bigger. Usually around 50 cars now (all pre-1974 A,B, C and E bodies)

Mid Pen Mopars is another club. He's in SSF. You need to get a hold of Stu over on Mofarts to talk to him about it. Tell him he needs to join over here. Good Luck!

Not that close to Santa Cruz
But;
Diablo Valley Mopars, Clayton Calif. near Concord
use to be a good active group, not sure if they are still doing it

they use meet up Wed. evenings in front of a Skipolini's Pizza
in Clayton Ca. Apr. - Nov. DJ & gathering

been so damn long I don't remember the names of the people
running it, IIRC a women named Kim was the Pres. for a long time
when I still lived in Concord, I moved in 1997...

Not to digress, but the Monterey Bay Mopar guys are great (later Central Coast Mopar). We wrenched on our 2.2l turbo Shelby cars together and old iron, too. I miss those guys. If that club is back you should check it out.

Golden State Mopars is an active group mostly modern cars but people bring classics, now that my upgraded suspension is done I can travel more. lately been staying close to home 1st sunday of every month for a coffee and clutches get together used to go to blackhawk in Danville for that cars and coffee. Just missed the Canepa mopar meet and show started in SJ and rolled to scotts valley to Canepa's shop. looked like a blast. There is also the California Mopar club, same thing mostly modern cars but both clubs welcome classics with open arms.

Bill, unfortunately, Chuck passed approx 7-8 yeas ago. I miss that guy a lot. He was a gentleman and a damn fine wrench. Karen asked 3 of the old Monterey members to help liquidate his cars/parts. And, Karen has had issues with circulation in one of her legs for years and she lost it about 2 years ago. I feel horrible for her going through that without Chuck and we moved away about 2 months before she even told us about it. Sorry for the gloomy news.

I moved right before this started but I get pics/updates from old club members that go. There's pics in FABO if you go into the Regional forum and click on activities in the West.

Mid Pen Mopars switched names to Mid Pen Muscle Car 10+ years ago so other classic car owners could join. It was Mopar only for around 2 years.

Last I heard (3 years ago), they were meeting at Sun Vallet Mall in Concord. I can't remember if it was at a specific biz there or just in the parking lot.

Was Canepa's shop in SJ prior to Scotts Valley? 15 years ago, there used to be a really fun cruise-in right off of the King's Mountain exit in Scotts Valley and when I asked someone about about it x years ago, someone said it moved to a shop not to far away in SV. I wonder if that's where they were talking about.
