Since i really had no where else to turn to i came here to ask what the cheapest mopars from the 60s to 70s would be, im 15 and cant afford something like an a12 superbee or a hemi cuda so i need some input on how i can find a good car or what good cars have good prices.

May I suggest you look into late 70's models. They're relatively inexpensive, pretty much similar to their predecessors. Without the emissions restrictions prevalent from then, you can surely make any of those models perform VERY respectively.

A body , duster or dart sport , plenty around at decent prices , small block 318 340 360 can make a hell of a ride

What is your initial budget?

68 - 70 A and B body 2 doors will be expensive in drivable shape or even rough shape. Look into 62 and up 4 door models. Many are still in good shape and don't command premiums that the 2 doors do. They are pretty much the same experience without the added cost.

I agree with two above posts. Pick something that you personally like. The Dart/Duster series cars (try to get a 318 small block version) are cheap. I personally like the 71-74 Chargers & some of those have big blocks (383, 400, 440) or small block 318's as well. The cheapest of these would be 318 small block or 400 big block. You also might look at the 75-79 Dodge Magnum or Chrysler Cordoba. They are generally cheap, with a 318/360 small block or 400 big block & are sort of "luxury cruisers" with a lot of stock options that were rare on the older Mopars (power windows, T-tops, cruise control, rear window defogger, etc.)

Of course "good" is subjective. I assume you have an initial budget? I suggest you start with a running, driving, pass inspection type of car. Maybe look for a Aspen / Volare', early Valiant, etc. Don't shy away from /6 either. Clifford Performance makes great products to power a 6. Good luck.

Start saving, in a few years (provided you stay out of legal and financial trouble) you will be able to get a nice 62-70 B-body.
Prices are trending lower.
Use the time to educate yourself on Chrysler.
A good truck late 80s early 90s truck w a small block would also be an affordable way to enter the Mopar world w a reliable vehicle and a good learning vehicle

Wow i wasnt expecting that much feedback!

But to answer questions i plan on having a budget of around 5- 9k and i was considering a duster/dart/swinger but what sucks is that i live in NJ and everything here is a pile of rust and dust and even if i found a project worth fixing up i have no where to store it but ill find a way....

search craigslist. I have seen some early 70s darts for less than 2k, running.

Save your pennies for a while
Cheap and mopar do not belong in the same sentence.
You have good taste
The more you save the closer
To your dream you will be.
Good luck

Asking here is a good start. If there are Mopar car clubs or speeds shops in your area, go and ask around. Leave a card with contact info.
I don't know what your taste in cars is, so I won't suggest a specific model. I would say to keep searching for a body style you like, and save up to buy something pretty complete, unless you have a lot of time, skills and space to work on a project car.
On Mopar B-Body name cars like R/T, GTX, Superbee, RoadRunner are high end versions of the Coronet and Satellite 2-door cars. Those are often cloned to be like the higher end cars.
If you have never driven one of these cars, you might want to get a ride or test drive a car. Most of the earlier pre-71 cars are 4-wheel drum brakes, wing windows, and cable operated vents.
The '71 up cars, I think have front disc brakes, no wing windows, and vacuum operated Heater/vents. The throttle pedal is different too.
All the "B" bodies are pretty big and long compared to the average car today.

I just looked at what these cars are listed for and having sticker shock!

Sonny says; Big Block, B Body, more door, some grandpa dropped dead and the family is willing to jump at little cash....

a hot rambler is cooler than an A body (other than hemi dart), in my humble opinion :D

cheap, plentiful, easy to mod, easy parts interchange, and most are surprisingly rust free ..... 360 or 401 slides right in (360 is cheap)
