Cheapest mopars????

4 door 60's ramblers are cheap and i like them, but coupes are pretty pricey and i don't see them come up for sale often.

Shazaam!

Wow i wasnt expecting that much feedback!

But to answer questions i plan on having a budget of around 5- 9k and i was considering a duster/dart/swinger but what sucks is that i live in NJ and everything here is a pile of rust and dust and even if i found a project worth fixing up i have no where to store it but ill find a way....
Ok, here's some good news. The Dusters seem to be a little less expensive vs. Darts/Swingers. They made A LOT of them. You could buy one pretty cheap with a 225 slant-6 & those motors run forever ($1500'ish). Now the good part.... a 440 will bolt into a Duster with only a handful of specialty parts and Dusters with 440's are FAST.

You might want to consider driving South a few hundred miles to where they don't use salt on the roads...maybe North Carolina? Kentucky? It's a pain to drive far, but the cars there will have a lot lest rust & rust = $ to fix. Also, be prepared to drive home without the car if it's not what you hoped for & look for another one.

Rephrase that to least expensive. There is nothing cheap about owning and building mopars. You can get cheap chevy's and build a 350 on the cheap. Look at the products offered in Jegs and Summit, 90 % chevy...

On a tight budget, you should start with a four door model, bought my '65 Valiant for $125.00 (back in the day). Then while in Community College Auto Tech class, I built it up the street legal small block 273 V8 to be quicker than a street Hemi (12.72 ET @ 108 MPH):

The brothers who I sold the Valiant to in 1980, spent $2 million dollars more on it (during the period 1980-2000), making it the quickest '65 Valiant four door on the planet. Same car today (no longer street legal):

Since i really had no where else to turn to i came here to ask what the cheapest mopars from the 60s to 70s would be, im 15 and cant afford something like an a12 superbee or a hemi cuda so i need some input on how i can find a good car or what good cars have good prices.

Hello and welcome here. :) I hope you find what you seek. Don't give up, they are out there. Sometimes takes a little digging and thinking outside the box. I like your taste. Go with as complete an example of the car you like as you can find, preferably running and driveable. I suggest taking someone with you who knows what to look for and can help you spot things to avoid. As 451Mopar said, local car clubs, Mopar clubs, and speed shops are a good starting place, as well as here. Maybe someone in one of those will know of or have a car like one you seek that is for sale.

i think that 68 bel in Lancaster is the one to get, it runs with lots of issues but can be fixed as you go.

1st, Welcome to Mopar madness! You've come to the best Mopar site, period. There are a ton of experts here who will give you sound advice. Seeing your 15 and do not have a license yet, start saving money while you're figuring this all out. At 15 your insurance rates will be through the roof, especially as you're a new driver. Keep is posted on your research!

You can still get a nice, solid 73/74 Roadrunner for 10K or less.
That's a "name" car and can still have a big block or 340.
A 318 car should be less.

Same goes for a 73/74 Charger.

73-76 Dusters, but the 73 340 cars are starting to go up.
73-76 Dart sports are a bit less than dusters but same goes for the 340 cars.
I've seen several solid driver 70-72 Darts under 8K lately.
Same for scamps and 73-76 Valiants.
I personally like the Valiant "Broughams"

75 and up B boy cars can be has SUPER clean for under 8K.
Some with 400 and/or T top roofs.

F body Aspens and Volares 76-80: under 5K.
You can still get R/T or RR trim in that body style if you can find one.

81-83 J body cars can be had super clean for under 5K.

66/67 is also a possibility as are 65 and down.

Do your homework and get familiar with what parts are hard to find and where each model that you're interested typically rusts.

Welcome to the forum. While I know you'd like to get a car, I'm going to recommend that you save up and get a truck. Mid 90's Dakota or any full size Dodge. You can hop them up like any car, and sneak under the insurance radar, which for young folk, is a killer even if you don't have a wreck. Plus, you can put the truck to work hauling wood, furniture, lawn mower, ect. They come with bench seat so girlfriend can sit close to you, and you can lay her down in the bed under the stars. That will excite her more than the backseat of any muscle car.

Sometimes you can score a station wagon cheap, I think they are pretty cool with a RR or SB hood & wheels.

Anything on the west coast? Looking for a nice driver. Preferably a 4 door or wagon. Been looking for years and most are just crazy expensive.

Sorry that Dart I posted is clearly a 67
