Well, I finally got around to the install. This is something I have wanted to do since I purchased the car. But if you have looked for these, particularly the hardware they can be unobtainium!
The headrests I got some time ago from a fellow in Sweden, they were in bad shape but that is another story. For now I have put these on but they are not in very good condition. So, after finally getting the correct mounting hardware from a great fellow over at DC.com, this winter it was on the schedule. didn't happen until yesterday.
However, I have a near mint black pair which I will have to paint/dye. Which leads me to a question. Does anyone have a pearl white pair of 67s they were considering painting black that we could possible trade? Just throwing it out there before I go ahead and make them pearl white and put them on.

Wow those look great! Was this an option for these cars or did you borrow them from another car?

I'm really jealous now Bob... but you knew that would be the case, didn't you. :D

optional on all car lines in 67 IIRC

..and could get one side only (either side)!

What did you have to add to the seat itself to add the headrests?

Yes, as mentioned an option in 67 for most Mopars. The headrest itself as well as hardware is 67 ONLY. They were available on B bodies and C bodies which is where I have seen them mostly.
As far as the seat, the holes are all there on the frame, you just have to find them and put the hardware on.

Yes, there is a fellow in Michigan, Tom (apologies, I forget his last name) who has a 67 Birthday special. He has a headrest only on the driver side. Ordered that way.
Well, gave the black ones a quick scrub with vinegar and water and one coat of paint is on.

Bob,

Nice work! Those headrests really add to the interior IMHO. Glad to see you finally got them installed my friend. Hope the weather in NY is finally warming up.

Greetings from Godley TX, lol!

I have a pair of 67 headrests that need new covers, the vinyl is cracked but has good foam underneath. Anyone make covers?

I suspect they are vacuum formed like a dash.
If that is the case, I'm thinking a place like Just Dashes.
The rear armrest/pad on a 67 which is made like that.
It's formed on a metal frame.

Yes, they are vacuum formed as mentioned. Since they are somewhat rare, it would probably be worth having them done.
I had a fellow try to restore the ones I had that were really bad and they did not come out well. Having said that they were REALLY bad. I found a really nice pair in black and painted them. In fact they go on today to replace these in previous pics.
I'll take a pic of them today.

Ahhh, done! 3 coats of white and one last coat of pearl white ... viola! Now they match the seats.

I sent you a PM, I’ll sell my set.

To the original poster....wow those look great in your car. Nice work!

Funny thing...
I have a set of white headrests which I wish I could have traded for your black headrests.
What type of paint did you use?
If i can't locate a good set of black headrests for my 67 GTX I'll be painting mine black.
