My daughter loves being picked up at school.

Sweet, my oldest boy asked if I would take his graduation picture with our 69 Charger in front of his High School.

Very cool, I'm sure she does love it. I don't get off work early enough but she does show up to all of her games in a 69 Charger.

Very cool ! I'm another one who doesn't get off early enough to pick my kids up from school, but on the very few days that I can they both ask if I can drive one of the oldies. Still in elementary school, but they both love riding in the old cars !

LOL, I had an old VW Beetle that I picked up just to flip. My daughter HATED being picked from soccer pracrice in it. She would come up this little hill that separated the field from the parking area, see me in the car, and hang her head in disgust. She said it was embarrassing.

My daughter asked to take the 65 for senior day before graduation. I said," Lets go out and have you drive it around first." She did for almost a 1/2 hour. She then asked to go back to the shop.I asked "So you think you will be fine with it ?" Her reply,"Thanks but I'll just take the Neon."
When I was in high school my brother's friend had a 62 Dart Max Wedge. He would give us a ride home once in a while !

Even in the 1980's it was cool to ride to school in a vintage 60's or early 70's car!

Very cool... I plan to take my Daughter to her first day of High School in my as yet to be finished Charger.. I have just over a year.. I better get busy...

Great posts, my wife hasn’t driven mine since about ‘76 & I just don’t see it ever happening again(no p/s or p/b). Grandkids are another story!

My kids always hate when I pick them up in one of the hot rods. They always get asked a ton of questions the next day but I do notice almost every kid these days does not even notice or look at the car what so ever. Man, when I was a kid & an old cool car was around we would always stop & talk to the owners.

I still remember a super shiney gloss 1970 GTO in a gas station when we were kids on our BMX bikes.Talking with the owner he said, "go ahead touch it". And when you went to touch it you jammed your finger. The paint & clear was so thick that you actually touched the car before you thought you were going to. Can't remember how many coats of paint & clear he said it had but it was in the teens.

Yes, I see the same thing here. Makes me sad. Or maybe it's like if we got picked up in a bone stock 29 Model T. And had to back up the hill out of the parking lot.

:)

I brought my daughter to /from church for her wedding a couple years ago in my road runner. Left marks leaving ( per request ).

Worked a 4 days on 4 days off schedule so once in awhile I'd pick my kids at school top down.

I use to pick up my girlfriend from school in 1975, in my '64 Polara 500. I already graduated, she still had another year to go.

A lot of us drove muscle cars to school. All kinds. You could tell who had parents with money too.

Good times!

Old school is great and its great she loves it also.

Should of seen her face as she walked around the corner....a huge smile broke out and she was like.. WTF are you doing dad! all her friends were looking and smiling at her as we drove off. I'll be doing it more often...shame it's a school zone so I can't really get sideways out the front...lol
