Don't forget about the 273.

Dang ! I looked at that several times saying to myself "It's just not right." Thanks for catching it M&M !

I can’t even remember 273’s back then(?). I do remember test-driving a 4-spd 2-door 426W, almost pulled the trigger but then the Bee’s came out.

1966 was first year for street Hemi. It was only available to race teams in 1965.

Actually all 426 Hemi's race and street were all rated at 425 hp. So was all three stage's of the 13.5 and 12.5 comp 426 Max Wedges. If I had a 65 I would like to build a killer stroker version of the 426 street wedge using the big chrome air cleaner and all. Heck you could figure how to fit a Dominator under that air cleaner. 413MW last half 62 model year. 426MW in 63 and first half 64. Race Hemi race teams only in last half 64 and from then on until street Hemi in production car in 66 model year. There were 2 compression ratios/hp's of both the 413 and 426 MWs plus 2 stages of the 426MW. There was also a street version of the 413 and 426 with single 4bbl and dual inline 4bbl carbs that were not MWs in same years as above until 66.

I saw a road test of a 62 Dart 413 with the in-line carbs as it was not a Max Wedge eng. Actually I guess there is 3 stages of the 426 MW eng since they have the stage II and stage III I guess the first version that was not called anything would be considered a stage I after the stage II and III came out ? I believe the 413 MW and the 1963 MW 426 engines were 11.0 and 13.5 comp and the 1964 MW 426 was 11.0 and 12.5 comp with the same hp ratings as the 1963 MW 426 of 415 & 425 hp. Course the 413 MX engines were rated at 410 & 420 hp. Ron
