Hello,
Gonna remove drivers side front fender to clean up the firewall area.
Any tips or, what to look out for, before I start ?
The hood, motor, front suspension are already out/off, I assume it is just remove trim pieces, than unscrew the bolts and inside fender splash shields ?
Thanks in advance

Draw a sketch of the fender and all the bolt holes. Take them out one at a time, measure them and then write it on your sketch above the hole, with a brief description e.g. 3/8 socket, 2 1/4" long, big washer. This was a huge help to me when reassembling with original hardware. Also note how many spacers come out at the top near the cowl and the bottom near the door. Cheers

Spacers, those u shaped flat shim thingies,
Yeah 2 fell onto the floor and I found one on the top back by the door hinge.
I sandwich baggie the bolts ect sharpie the description and area of rem9val, plus I take digital pics of EVERYTHING, digital cameras are great, zoom in and everything.
Thanks

the grille surround, where it bolts to the fender front is a SOB

careful not to twist the stud/clip so much that it pulls through the trim.

Yes,
Grill surround was a pita.
Took the turn marker assembly out, then unbolted the L shaped bracket to get last screw holding onto fender.
Easy after that, kinda figured I would have to do that but really tried to with out, but I am not as persistent about things as I used to be.
Thanks

Did you have to take the turn signal out?

Yes
Took the turn signal marker assembly out, in order to get to last bolt holding onto the fender, it was on top of a 90 degree piece of metal bolted to headlight assembly
