I am starting the clean up and painting of my 67 Charger door panels. I have found places where the vinyl is broken out especially at the corners of the panel. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to repair these broken out places other than just fill with glue? I visited the local Auto trim shop and they had nothing to offer. Pictures attached. Suggestions appreciated.

I'm no expert. But it looks like you need new vinyl. Any spot repair wouldn't look right. Also, all the vinyl as a whole is probably on the verge of falling apart. Fix one spot, another spot falls/pulls apart.

There are specialty tradesmen who do vinyl/leather/trim repairs, either spot or complete, depending on the extent required. Your local quality body shop may be able to refer you to a specialist.

Might try a regular upholstery shop for some ideas, I am going to use OER PP202, hoping for the best. Let me know how ur doing

Well, after trying several places where I live with no help, I went back to the body shop where my son had worked and talked to the owner. He sent me to an upholstery shop out of town where he is currently sending parts for repair. I met with the owner this morning and what a real help this guy ended up being. So, I am looking at replacing the old vinyl with new material, changing the color to black at the same time. The owner is looking for a material that matches the same grain pattern as my original. He also told me he could try to repair the broken and cracked areas but it would not look good. Prices per each door panel was acceptable. Now trying to decide if this is the route I want to go. I will keep you all posted and send pictures if this is what I do.

Thanks everyone for help and suggestions.

There is a place near us that does this type of restoration. They quoted me $1100 for a set of four 66-67 Charger interior panels a few years ago. After that I didn't feel too bad about buying a mint set for $500.

WOW....this place quoted me $135 each for the rears. I have to take the fronts to him for pricing, but he thought it would be the same. I was worried but am now feeling pretty good.....lol. When and if I get this done I will post before and after pictures

I have 6 sets I'll ship you for that price lol

If that works out, I have 2 fronts that need repair. Keep us advised.

Hey Guys....I am starting to take the door panels apart. The alum or stainless inlays on both front and rear, has anyone seen these as reproductions? I thought I found them a month ago and cannot find them now. The bent over clips are breaking when trying to straighten to remove from the panel. I can most likely glue these back in place but thought I would ask. let me know.

Indydoc (Doug Winslow) reproduces them. eBay is your source

There is also a company that sells new aluminum inserts
