...this shifter is thier Competition Plus replacement shifter, for a 1969 Roadrunner. I am confused by the angled section at the bottom of the shifter that moves it to the passenger side by a couple of inches. Anyone installed this?

This is the other one they list, but if you're familiar with the bashing of knuckles into the dash, then the angle at the top of this shifter is just as dumb.

looks like a console shifter. bench seat is different.
This is what Hurst says... "Also fits Plymouth Roadrunner from 1968 to 1972 without a console using a New Process manual transmission Trans ID 422. Also fits Plymouth Roadrunner from 1968 to 1969 with a console using a New Process manual transmission Trans ID 422"

Kind'a dumb in my opinion.

I'm not sure if the handle is for a RR the bend also maybe so your hand doesn't hit the seat? Google 1969 RR and maybe add interior and look at images.

Googled 1969 Plymouth RR interior. Stock looked like an inland shifter.

Hurst has become a " will fit" .. sell the name , company. IMO they have gone to hell since being bought out by big money. No such thing as customer service. And the price?? you gotta be crazy to spend that kind of money for the shifter and then spend near that much more for the installation kit. ( yes I am ) ...............................MO

The handle looks like the ones I saw on google......

And unfortunately to make it less desirable, it's the bayonet(?) setup rather than the bolt in. I imagine one "could" drill and shim to fit a bolt in style mechanism with stops. Not sure how hard the handles are. Then too, if ya' have a friend with an EDM.
Lol...….

As far as the dash smash handles, maybe one could offset the lower hole in the shifter adapter using something similar to a 1 bolt cam timing bushing.

I made cutouts of shifter handles from the pdf drawings to decide on a handle. I had shifter mechcanism in the car put in 1st put cutout like it was in the shifter same with 2nd gear. To how I liked the position of the handle.

That handle reminds me of the 4 spd swap I did on my '68 RR. The donor was a JY '69 RR. The console shifter was super dorky lookin' without a console in my '68, lol.
