So my 73 Charger is going to be running Holley Terminator EFI. The kit comes with an in-line electric fuel pump, which is fine for the time being, but I’d like to eventually upgrade to an in-tank pump.

Tanksinc does not offer any fuel tanks for 71-74 b body. I’ve heard people saying the retrofit in tank pump kits (like the Aeromotive stealth or the Holley retrofit module) do not fit due to lack of clearance between the tank and the trunk floor

Has anyone here had any luck with these kits, or something else? The more detail you can provide, the better. I’m very new to all this and sometimes don’t know what questions to even ask!

I did and it's not that complicated. Cut yourself a pair of wooden wedges (sorta like the way they mount a truck box on top the frame) that taper to lower just the front of the tank. If done correctly, the wooden strips will fit into the longitudinal grooves in the tank and should be held in with a few dabs of PL Premium. Place them in the outer most grooves of the tank. From the rear of the car you cannot see them and if you have J-bolts you can probably use the existing straps. Doing it this way gives you an airspace between the tank and trunk floor, prevents any movement of the tank and allows room for the upper hat of the fuel pump. I would recommend the pump go in the front right corner of the tan to ensure the pickup is always submerged in fuel. You cannot, under any circumstances beat the Aeromotive stealth.

Mopar Action did this on, I believe, their 69 beeper. Might be worth picking up that issue, it would have been sometime in the last 2-3 years?

I can look into it, but the issue is the 71-74 specifically. I’ve been lead to believe these types of kits won’t work because there isn’t space between the tank and the floor on these models. The tank design is different on earlier models and their are EFI tanks available for those models, not these

If not adding a fuel sump or baffles, don't forget the hydramat for the fuel pickup.

The Holley kit comes with hyrdromat, aeromotive kit comes with a big foam baffle type deal. Tanksinc has a similar kit with a metal baffle the pump “sits in”

I don’t suppose you have pictures of your install? When you say front right corner, is this the opposite position of the sending unit? I assume this set up still functions with the stock sending unit?

I put a areomotive phantom in my 71 RR. Only had to drop the front of the tank 1/4"

I put a Holley Terminator system in my 72 Road Runner GTX. Opted to get a fuel tank with the pump installed from Modern Muscle Xtreme (Martinsville, VA) based on a recommendation from a friend who builds Mopar muscle cars and has used MMX many times. Cost was about $700 for the whole shebang which was what I had saved on a promotion from Holley for the Terminator system.

Pleased with the product, and have had no problems whatsoever with it, well worth the t

Tank, with pump, bolted right in, with no body mods or shims.
