Planning future trips....will be in Carlisle in July, thought about Hershey in October. Never been there, know it’s not Mopar exclusive but it appears to be a huge event. Comments and opinions appreciated.

You gotta try it once. It's pretty unreal how large it is. Saturday is the car show part. If you like seeing a little bit of everything this is for you. It's far from a Mopar show or really even a muscle car era show. Huge car corral all week as well.

DO NOT GO SATURDAY...........IT IS OVER MID TO LATE FRIDAY.

As others have posted above, it is an amazing event. The swap meet is so large that even walking at a brisk pace and only checking out what little Mopar that you will find at the event, it will take you most of three days to see the different fields or lots. Some vendors come over from Carlisle, while others only attend this event. The swap meet will start on Tuesday and by Wednesday, most of those vending will be in place. By Thursday afternoon, some vendors are packing up already. By Friday afternoon a good third will already be packed up and by Saturday morning, 60% of the vendors will be packed up.

We make the 13 hour drive and have always had good luck finding parts. You have to get there early in the week, walk hard and know what your looking for. There is a bit of everything and is a great history lesson.

The car corral is just as large and you could probably spend a day just looking at the huge and diverse selection of cars. Most of the cars are better quality as found at typical Mopar car corrals and I feel that the prices are better.

The Saturday event is pretty much geared towards the actual car show. Every kind of imaginable antique vehicle can be found on the show field. There will be brass era, pre and post war cars, muscle cars, fire trucks, semi trucks, vintage race cars. You will not see no car on the field newer than 25 years old and there are no modified vehicles such as street rods allowed into the show. People dress in vintage clothing and cars are brought over from other countries to get judged at the show. Even more impressive is that all of the cars have to make the drive from the registration area onto the field, over a mile drive.

If you plan on attending, go ahead and look for lodging as the area fills up. I always make our reservations from year to year. We stay down in Mechanicsburg as it is a bit cheaper and you can get a better room for the money vs staying up near Hershey. It does not cost to enter the event, they only charge you to park. No golf carts are allowed during the day and you see very little use even after the show hours of 8 AM til 6 PM. They do police things and run a tight show, I only wish others would study their efforts and skill in putting together a first class event.

Did it once - never again. But every "car guy" absolutely must go at least once. There is everything from the steam era on up. It will take you 2 days (minimum) to see it all.
