Well, my new front wheels will be in tomorrow. 15x4.5 Rocket wheels....retro looking five spoke. I want a set of front tires that are taller than the 25 1/2 diameter VW tires that are so popular. I need like a skinny , 27 inch diameter tire or something close. Any suggestions ?

Wow, that is a tough find. I was looking at a 215/75x15 to fill a 62 wheelwell, but i've got a 15x7 wheel. Coker WILL have what you want, but they won't be cheap. I'm assuming street use. Tall race skinnies are available, but i wouldn't use them on the street.
Come to think of it, some of our australian brothers were talking about tall skinnies that might be available special order. Pm kiwi maybe?

What are driving needs? If a street car 4" seems very narrow, if a mainly drag car I used both the 27" and 24" Moroso fronts, drag use only. For drag use need to decide what works for you.

Bf Goodrich silvertowns 7.10x15 is what I use if you don’t mind bias. About 28” tall I think.

Yes, take a look at these. I put something similar on my 63 and bought Coker brand through Summit. Very period correct look.

Street car only. That 7.10 Coker fit ok on 4.5 wide front wheel ?

7.10 will fit well on a 4.5 front runner. its tall so there will be a lot of tire flex when turning but these things aren't track cars. its worth the cool look

BFG silver towns on a 4.5" rim...around 28-29" tall

I run these standard tires on the front of my 63 on 15 x 6 Torque Thrust. The tires are 215/70-15's. Ron

Here is a side shot to show a better shot of how they fit the car. Ron

I planned on running these on the rear...wanted them to match the fronts. Anyone running them ? Curious how well they hook.

Thanks as that's not a bad price and they look cool ! Ron

215/75R/15 27'' tall Hercules about 70 bucks. 6'' steelies. The blue color is different than the car. Just put them on to check fit.Repaint later.
It's Sonny's fault. You got me hooked on the steelies look.275/60R/15 rears on 7''.Lowered the back, raised the front like 1965 again.
