They only have two models this year; the minivan & the 300. I've been saying for months that the end is near. Too bad.

Swirling rumors suggest that one of America's oldest remaining automakers could be on the chopping block.

Sergio Marchionne will hold an investor's meeting in Italy on Friday, June 1, in Balocco, Italy, where the CEO will possibly kill one the corporation's most historic brands. FCA specialist Larry P. Vellequette of Automotive News reports that "a source told a European colleague" that Marchionne would declare the end of the Chrysler brand in the speech to investors.

In addition, Marchionne could detail plans to pull Fiat out of the United States and China, according to Automotive News. The brand would re-focus on building vehicles for Europe, Brazil, and emerging markets.

FCA's big strategic pivot would free up money to invest even more into Jeep, which is already the corporation's most profitable division. Among the new products reportedly on the way, there would be an even smaller SUV below the Renegade and the luxurious Grand Wagoneer for challenging the upper end of the segment.

FCA cares about the Italian Marques heritage, But couldn't give 2 shits about Mopars...

In reality. Those are the only two they need.

They better ramp up the SUV models because thats the future. They have nothing to compete with the Ford Escapes and such

Another American icon going down the drain. They’re dropping like flies. Sad

I'll go so far as to say that once the Charger & Challenger run their course, if there's nothing good to replace them, Dodge won't be far behind.

FCA only bought Chrysler for the companies infrastructure and Jeep.. So yeah!!

Agreed which is sad.....Wasn't their a Barracuda or some crap coming out? What ever happpened to that? Did it just flop or any hearsay on that?

Looking at U.S. market share from around 1962 - 1977, GM had around 50%, Ford 25%, and Chrysler around 20%. Right now in 2018, Ford has around 18%, GM 17%, Toyota 17%, Fiat Chrysler 16.5%, Honda 11%, and so on. So, from 1977 to 2018, FCA is down only about 3.5% market share, while Ford and GM have lost significantly more in those years. Yet, Ford and GM "appear" to be more stable. Isn't it wonderful what foreign ownership has done for Chrysler. Daimler raped them and Fiat can't design a car that people want to buy. The Dart/200 lasted 2 years, the 300 is as plain as you can get. Now Fiat may once again leave the U.S. market; probably due to the same reasons as before, they build crap. But, now they've injected that crap into the Mopar brand and Chrysler may now fall. It would be nice for some other, profitable, automaker to save Dodge and Ram from Fiat. Sad, a company that had, and has, great engineering, but horrible management/leadership.

Free market capitalism. With few exceptions (i.e. tariffs, other forms of gov't intervention...i.e. taxpayer bailouts like the Chrysler bailout of 1979), if you can't compete you can't survive.

But don't get me wrong. It is sad to see another American icon fall by the wayside.

I can go back to the pioneer days, my horses are broke and will get me to the grocery store and back, big garden, would the neighbor miss a beef? a 20 yr supply of squirrels (tastes just like chicken).....a zillions acre lake up the road. Car makers I give a chit. LOL!!

Dodge started circling the drain when the switched their trucks to Ram.
They're going to badge their minivans as Rams and kill the cars.

BTW these FIAT bastards also own own CaseIH agricultural lines and New Holland as well.

Have to wonder if someone else cash loaded might want to buy the brand. There's too much there to let simply disintegrate aside from sentiment. Yeah - get some group with brains to move ahead...

If you're old enough you might remember the jingle "a Dodge in every garage".

This is the first year I've seen more Challengers on the road than Camaro's. And it seems like up here Ram is selling much better than Chevy's and Ford's. I'll stop at a light and they'll be 3 or 4 Rams and none of the other brands. I was hoping that the Rams, Jeeps and Chally's would keep them a float. I guess they saw it was futile fighting the quality of Honda & Toyota.
