I was thinking of tossing a pair of these on the 71 440 while I am tinkering with starting and running it. Anyone have any input ?

I like the hornies it's a classic sound that you don't hear very often any more

Yeah, I debated back and forth a lot before I made the choice. I hate a drone and I don't care if it's loud, I don't drive it every day and when I do I want them to hear me coming. I like the magnaflows a lot

I love the purple hornies! most glasspaks have about the same sound, the purple hornies are just a different tone.

You're going to be sucking a LOT of exhaust fumes!

My thoughts were to put straight turndowns on the headers. Not ideal for being in traffic, as the fumes would be strong, but at least while cruising it should be in the airflow

What pipe dia.
I had 3" Ford tractor mufflers 36" just to loud. Though about 3" hornies and figured nothing would change.

I ran a set of Purple Hornies on a mildly worked Ford 289 back in the day. It was flat out the best sounding car I’ve ever heard, especially if you wound it up. I can’t see a big Mopar sounding worse. Fumes? Fix your motor. I never had fumes and I actually used these.

Neibors on both sides are now gone. Closest one approximately 600 feet away. I might be able to get by with open headers but doubt it.
