So after perusing some product reviews it looks like headers can be an install nightmare depending on what you buy. I'm looking for a brand/part #that fit reasonably well (at a reasonable price?). I'm okay with switching to a mini starter if need be. What I don't want is to have to bang the crap out of them to make them "work".

What I got:
1967 Dodge Coronet LA 318, 727
Power steering/brakes

I have used TTI without any mods. Although they are pricey. That is one area I didn't skimp. Nothing makes a car look like a hack that popping the hood to see headers that have been beat with a ballpeen hammer. Look at shorty headers, they might be a good alternative. Just my 2cents.

Flow tech is a little brother brand to hooker. Mine fit flawlessly and even allow the oil filter to fit without the flow killing 90 adapter

Flt13100 was part number for my 71 charger. No Denting whatsoever. The tie rod still had to be removed but idk if that’s a charger only thing

You'll find almost nothing more frustrating than trying to make poor quality headers fit. My BB TTI's fit my '66. Years ago I've used top dollar Hooker Race headers that fit well. Not sure about SB's but again TTI rep is good from all I've heard. Not really that much more $.

Dougs and TTIs seem to have the least ammount of complaints on a BB B Body.
I have Dougs but they are not installed yet so Im going off what ive read in other post here.

Thanks for the replies,

Upon closer inspection of many of the (negative) product reviews, most of the complaints came from people installing on A bodies, although there was good information about making sure the engine was in the correct position (height - side to side). It sounds like new motor mounts are in order. I've rebuilt the rest of the front end at this point (ball joints, tie rod ends, brake lines).

One problem that comes up as well is spark plug wire routing. Some complain about burned wires. THis can often be avoided by test fitting different plug wire terminals to get the wire to rest away from the header tubes. I've had to switch the factory applied ends on plug wires just to gain clearance. Most 273-360 wire sets seem to be either straight boot or a slight bend to them. I don't recall exactly but some headers...Maybe Hooker or Hedman...had a cyl #1 tube that ran up along the valve cover! This was right in the way of the #3,5 and 7 plug wire access! You had to run 90 degree plug wire ends to avoid burned wires!

You get what you pay for. TTI = FIT & QUALITY...
