Hi everyone ! I was thumbing through a classic industries wish book when i noticed a square headed key. It was only available ( by them ) for 1968 models ( part # MD2640). It caught my eye, as my car is a 68. In a members old posting i read they thought the square headed keys were used in other earlier years as well.
What year or years were they used ? Were they ignition keys ? Was there any significant meaning to the shape?
Funny, i've had a few ol Mopars in my time & didn't learn of this till now. Ha

Most all of them have square ignition keys and round trunk keys .all my 71-74 are like that as is my 64 and the 68 I just sold !

You can buy the key blanks on Ebay.....I got a few sets and they are nice looking.

My 67 r/t has square keys. So does my buddies 67 dart that his grandma bought new. None of my other cars have had them

Wow, i really thought someone would have answered with an article or something that told the whole story.
