66/67 Belvedere, Satellite, GTX Quarter Panel Survey

I just bought a 67 GTX. I wish I'd done more research on patch panels. I will probably be putting it up for sale.

What patches are you looking for? A friend of mine made some for my 66 Coronet! Lower L.R. and the trunk exts. He might be coxed into making some of those again!

It needs 1/4 skins, wheel arches are gone.

This is a copy paste from a FB group from a guy that talked to AMD at the Nats. -
(Quote) Just got in from the second day at the Columbus, Ohio. Mopar nationals. Have some good news from AMD. They are tooling up for production of repair panels for the 66-67 Satellite/Belvedere. The guy from AMD that I talked to said they are tooling it up right now and should be out in about a year. I am ready for some real parts and this may be it.

About time, I have talked to AMD on many occasions at the Nationals and the answer was always that they don't see a need or they aren't popular enough. I have even tried to get Ted Stephens to introduce me to someone who would understand. AMD did make rear quarter patches at one time, but they were discontinued.

I contacted AMD today to suggest the need for quality quarter panels for 66/67 Belv/Sat and GTX's. I told them that there is a need for quarter panels due to the high incidence of rust in the forward section of the quarter panel at the rear wheel well. I told them, that many owners of these cars have discussed the need on FBBO.

The representative from AMD said there is just not enough need of these quarter panels to justify the manufacture of a new product. He went on to say maybe 5-10 guys need these panel or maybe even 15-20 and that amount doesn't justify a need.

I may be biased but I think there are many more of these b-body owners that need new quarters, I'd like to get a response from those of you who need these quarters, maybe Joey could attach this to an on going poll that could eventually be forwarded to AMD and maybe change their minds and attitude toward 66/67 b-bodies.

Not only quarters but complete front wings too-I'd buyall four wings straight off

i really hope this isnt a cruel joke... i need drop offs and quarter panels and outer wheel housings... i really hope AMD came to their senses

just for the heck of it i emailed AMD....the same gentleman that NIKC emailed got right back to me... pretty much said the same thing, he said development does take time, we're probably looking at 1.5 - 2 years out before we see production in stock, but its going to happen!! he also said to keep checking back from time to time, hopefully we can get the ball rolling soon. thats great news and im happy they will be making parts for our 66-67 plymouths .

I have also spoken with AMD via instagram about 66/67 quarter panel patches the person said they would put in a formal request. Hopefully that will get some where. They wanted me to post links to various topics regarding ill fitting panels and the frustrations we all know and have been subjected to. I have yet to get a list of topics to send to them..

Outer Wheel houses too. There are none to be found closest thing is a 69 dart.

I just finished repairing my 67 GTX. You can get panels for the rear. Takes 3 separate panels. The trouble I had was the inner wheel well or outer as the factory says. What I did was take an outside skin (from year one) and used it to fashion the wheel well. I used two outside skins on each side at the wheel well. The contours matched up and I had to form the ends on the inside. It took a while but it was OK in the end. I had people look at it and they had trouble noticing the patch. I also talked to AMD no help.

i email AMD a couple times a month because like a lot of you guys my 67 GTX is on hold.... i need a lot of help with rust repair in the rear of the car.... they assure me that its all coming. quarters, outer wheel. trunk extensions. AMD says that its all in the works, they are finishing the Ford stuff now, wouldnt hurt to send some more emails to them for motivation... im patient but i hate waiting
