Hi- 1968 Charger on the column shifter- there is play in the the shifter.

I checked the trans linkage at the tranny and the plastic grommet is in good condition, also checked the linkage looks ok - is there another plastic grommet that needs to be changed in the column, anyone have a picture to help make the repair?

There is also a plastic bushing on the frame mount bracket and a bushing on the column lever where the rod connects. If those are good you may have wear in the handle itself at the pin or gate at the bottom of the handle and could also have a broken handle tension spring
