Back in 1992, I sold this:

Info on my old '74:

VIN: RM21P4G108795
1974 RR with 400/Auto on column. I bought it in 1991 in Maryland for $995 with (what I assumed to be) 120,688 mile (odometer showed 20,688). Car was sold in MD in Dec of 1992 for $1000. Factory 400 car but had a 1971 383 in it. Sold car with a date-coded 400 and trans that was never installed.

Exterior:
Black W/red stripe (mostly still factory)
Hood pins
Engine (400) callouts on hood
Cop wheels added in 1992.

Interior:
Black w/bucket seats, no console. Front seat inserts were recovered in May of 1992 with cloth in factory pattern.
Auto on column
Rally cluster

Today, I randomly found an ad on CL. located just 2 hrs from me.

I've spoken to the owner and plan on bringing it home next week!

 Awesome, I hope to find mine that I sold in the early nineties.

Present day...owner told me he was going to make it his 'own way'....so glad he decided to sell first. Supposedly he has everything for it; bumpers, valance, interior (new headliner and carpet in the box), mirrors, etc. Has a 400 back in it (not sure of date).

Still has the front seats that my Dad recovered for me back in 1992

It'll take a lot to get it back to where it should be, but honestly, if I'm ever going to make the effort, I want it to be on this car.

Glad you found it even if it is in pretty rough shape. I'm still beating the bushes for the 68 RT Charger I sold in 96

Nice that you were reunited, it takes a real passion to bring one back, it's good that you have the chance to do that.

Very cool.

If I could only find my 70 Super Bee I sold in 1993.

So, did you sell it or lose it? If you lost it, then how did you sell it? You can't have both!
Well, I sold it, regrettably...(then lost track of it). It was my daily driver. As a 19yo kid starting off on his own, I was given a choice to sell it and get a new car, or keep it and deal with the constant little issues (and working on it in the parking lot at the apartment), the engine eating oil like water and having to fill the gas tank every few days...I chose to 'Adult' and give it up.

I've regretted it pretty much ever since and always said that if I ever found it, I'd buy it. :)

There's going to be a big fugging For Sale ad coming soon with my current 72 SSP and every part that I've collected for it over the last 22 years.

Congratulations on finding your old car! Build it and enjoy it!

My old 73 Road Runner with a 340 has been with me since I was 16. It was bought in 1979 and I bought it from my sister in 1981. I just got it back running again. It is currently a bit of a beater, but now has a fresh 340/416 stroker and I plan to drive it a lot again. One day it will receive a full rotisserie restoration.

It may not be worth all that much, but it is priceless to me because of its history. Here it is the other day with my 70 Road Runner:

So glad to hear it came back to you! I sold my '68 GTX in 1991, and got it back 22 years and four owners later, by word of mouth, car went from PA to Detroit to South Carolina to Tennessee, and home. Pictures show it in '91 and '21. Car has held up better than me. Sometimes these things are meant to be, I got my mine back because of my bond with the guy I bought it from back in 1983.
