65 Coronet Package Shelf

Got mine from Classic Industries, it arrived damaged, they wanted pictures of the damaged package shelf, and the box. they made good on it but it took 3 weeks and half dozen phone calls, but the quality was great . Don't like their packing shelf insulation, was way to thick. I was lucky and was able to salvage my original one.would recommend getting a large piece of 1/16 " felt from a fabric store if you don't have the original its almost identical. at least on my 67 GTX . they sell yours for $34.99 Good Luck.

I bought a Classic reproduction package tray last fall for my 65 440 sedan. I was not even close to the OEM piece. I am using it because I'm not restoring my car. To their credit Classic refunded my money during a subsequent order.
The new tray is made out of Masonite (rough side up) with a vinyl "hinge" connecting the horizontal piece to the vertical section. The OEM is molded cardboard material with a reflective foil under side lining. The new tray doesn't have the 2 holes for the hold-down buttons either.

REM is the only manufacture that I am aware of that produces the package trays. Repops makes some of the same pieces that REM does, but not the package trays. So no matter who your buying from, it is almost certain that it is a REM product in regards to the package trays.

Thanks guys for all the replies good information

REM is very near me I use their products a lot, and yes most vendors sell their stuff.
I have an account there so I buy direct, never had any issues, friendly staff.
I ordered sun visors for my 62 Fury Tuesday morning and they called and said they were ready for pick up at 12:15 the same day. Picked them up around 2 and they fit perfect.

The problem that we are facing in this hobby is that many of the materials and parts needed to manufacture the parts that are needed for these cars is no longer available. REM is no different and you would think that something like cardboard would be readily available. At this time of the year, we deal with REM on a weekly basis and they are more than willing to work to bring a product to the market. But as any in any business, it comes to down to the economics of the part. It is becoming more and more difficult to do some of these pieces as the material availability is drying up and is not feasible to produce another run of material that will take years to sell off.

Mike, Jim and Jenna have always been willing to listen to the issues and will look at samples to determine if revisions can be made. The thing to understand is that back in the day, Chrysler had at least three vendors for any given part, so even back then, there could be differences with any given part.

I wish that the quality of several parts could be better and the best way to achieve that is to provide the manufacture with quality samples and input.

I had no problem with the different materials and construction. Just don't advertise the parts as reproductions, be honest about the situation.
