Found this under my 66 Charger
Obviously it is a bumper of some sort but where does it go ?
Or, is it not part of my car ?
Thanks

Small bumper goes on little arms back corner of cowl.
For rear corners of hood to rest on.
My guess.
Would have to confirm visually.

I would tend to agree, but not sure. I have a replacement set for my 67 Charger, slightly taller I think and a longer shaft but that looks like it would go there. Canadian dime is about the same size as the US dime.

Maybe behind the front license plate...

Have not opened the trunk in over 10 years
Dont think it is from there,
Front plate had been gone even longer, do not remember seeing anything like that, but I did remove the bumper about a year ago to start the front end rebuild, so not sure ?
Anone else ?

Today looking at my buddies 69 Charger it had one on the trunk. That's why I mentioned it. Not sure about the 66 though. It does seem it was different back there.

I might as well get involved in this. If it is a factory chrysler part, then you could track it down by part number. I can't see a pentastar on it but it is a bit blurry. The number looks like 4191222. If that is the number then it is not in any of my parts books. 64,65,66,67,and69. Perhaps someone on this site has some newer parts books. I know it is not critical, but detective work can be fun.

Well
Now that you mention it, I did have my 69’s trunk open about a month ago.
I will have to check that out, may have stuck to the lid and pulled out.
Also part # is
165 4721222
Thanks

47 would be an 80s part number anyway. That does not look like a Chrysler #.
Mopar numbers starting in the 50s were 7 digit 1xxxxxx would be 50s, 2xxxxxx would be 60s etc. Not a steadfast rule but is true most of the time.
My 2 cents ... that is not from a 66/67 Charger. I don't have that anywhere on my 67 and I took every rubber bumper off and on that car.

Ok.
That's not fair.
You didn't mention you have another car.
I saw the part number and thought about that.
But I figured if it came off the 66 Charger I would know it as such.
Trunk bumpers on later cars.
(Hint: If the the tit comes off from age you can just glue them to the car. Gravity stinks when you get old)

Well, it's not off my 69 Charger, both sides are there, also the one from the floor is thinner, hard to see in pic, but about 1/2 the thickness of the 69 trunk lid bumper.
