Refrigerant oil?

I am flushing and resealing the OEM A/C system on my 65 Coronet and am not having any luck finding a recommendation for what weight PAG oil to use in the old V-twin. Should I use the dip stick to check fill level as in the FSM?
I have found that I should back off the EPR valve adjustment screw 1/4 turn when converting to 134A as well as using 80% of the R-12 fill specs. And ignore the sight glass. Thanks.

You are right Mike, I couldn't find anything pertaining to what what weight the oil is in the 1965 FSM.It's been awhile but the auto part store should show a Chrysler "spec" PAG oil. I did find that if you do not know the amount in the complete system, adjust the sump level oil to 2 inches using the dip stick method. 11 oz is the amount for a empty(clean) entire system. I didn't find the figure photo on making a "dipstick" in the 65 manual. My 72 FSM showed using stiff wire (coat hanger) and mark at 2 inches with it touching the bottom of the sump.45 oz is the refrigerant charge. You do the math for 80%.

I built a dip stick to Chrysler specs in the early 70s when I was the A/C guy at the dealership I was working for. It just shouldn't be so hard to find this information on the internet! Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't those old OEM R12 systems use Ester oil? I though they went to PAG with the R134a systems.
 
Don’t mix the 2 oils, they aren’t compatible. Best to flush the entire system then convert to the 134 Pag oil.
 
Ranger you are right, It's been 4 years since the last time I messed with A/C. Mopar used ester.
Now how could I forget Ester, I had a crush on her in high school !
 
When you get the Sanden compressor, ask what PAG oil you should run.

If anyone cares I found a chart online that tells me to use PAG 100 in the Chrysler v-twin compressor with 134A refrigerant.

Sweet, I’m sure that’ll help others.
 
I checked my '69 service manual (more than once) and all I could find was that Chrysler uses a "wax free" compressor oil. They did not mention a viscosity.
