In Search Of My Old 72 Charger WH23P2G183387

I owned this car from 1987 until 1997. Sold it to a guy in Howell MI.

Wish I could find it for my son, or to turn it into a father/son restoration project. 440/727 (original 400/4spd)

Anyone have a way of finding it by VIN? WH23P2G183387

Tracking cars by VIN or registration is typically not available to the general public. The state DMVs do not give out that info easily. You can do some Google searches on the VIN to see if it comes up. Maybe you'll get a hit. If so, you will most likely need to hire a Private Investigator to do the leg work. Most of them are licensed to get DMV records.

A word of caution...you may not like what you learn, much less if you are actually able to see it. I know my '71 Cuda and '72 Charger, much like yours, are now part of the earth. Might be better to start fresh. Good luck!

I could see the excitement of finding your old car, but what about finding a car on craigslist and making a road trip out of it. Make it your Son's first car and maybe it won't be a 72 Charger, but something else cool like the Charger, maybe a pair of something and you get the 72 Charger. Build them together and bet on who finishes first...or who has the fastest. Finding your old car might consume valuable time you could spend with him now..just a thought.

Sure was a good looking car . The private investigator route has worked many times for others . But as stated sometimes it's best to let them go and start new . That was your car you can get your son his own ! But out of the 30 or so that have come threw here that Vin isn't one! So I doubt it's on vacation in Florida . Good luck
