Nice! Don't want to swap the steering wheel for one with less dish?

"New dana 40 rear end with 351 gears"

????

"Side lights shaved"

Too many legal reasons I wouldn't recommend doing this. Not in California anyway.

Awesome car otherwise.

I like everything but the dash. I like the original dash.

Has anyone else ever heard of a Dana 40?
I have not.
I've heard of a 35, a 53 and of course the 60 and 70.
I'd like to see what that looks like. I'm just used to seeing either an 8 3/4" or a Dana 60 in B body cars.

Sweet car. Like most of what you did, love the color.

@Sudzintx Welcome to FBBO from warm & sunny NorCal Sierras

yes there is such a thing as a Dana-40
not usually refered to as a Dana-40,
more a Spicer Tandem/Spicer Pro-40
started in about 2011 for a lighter version of the commercial axles
now known as Spicer Pro-40

there's a lot of so called experts, self proclaimed "knowitalls"
that never heard of them :blah:

it is generally a full floating axle/housing &
IIRC it is a pumpkin style drop out/in chunk/plug carrier
generally used in heavy IIRC usually over 2 ton applications
or medium duty commercial applications, dual rim/tire
or gear reduced &/or tandem dual drive style axles
where both/dual/tandem axles drive, like a big rig

go to Dana Spicer Corp. web site
educate yourself

BUT;
they are pretty freaken' big/they are heavy duty,
I've never seen one in a car

I'd like to see a photo of it installed in a B-body
if possible, just out of curiosity

it'd have to be or the car would have to be
highly modified to make work or fit

there's a lot of people that call Dana-44's
a Dana-40 series & they're wrong,
totally different style & size carrier
