Can someone post a few pictures of their rear sway bar on 73 2 door b body where the U bolts past through the shock plate and sway bar plate. Putting mine back together after 12 or 13 years and the bolt holes from the shock plate are not aligning with the sway bar plate. About a half of a bolt hole off.

Thanks,

Will this work, my 73 RR

That looks like an after market set up on the road runner? where did you find that?

I thought I saw a picture with the sway bar bracket on the bottom of the u bolts and axel

The sway bar and sway bar plates are original, but the bushings and links are from firm feel, however, I have to shim them to get them to grab the bar, not sure why, but I have talked to them many times, and their test sway bar apparently doesn't have the same problem, so I would like to eventually find factory ones to put back on if I could ever find a set.

Thanks everyone for the replies. My swaybar plates don't have the elongated slotted bolt openings. I got it together with and lot of pushing and pulling on the U-bolts.
I need to post a picture or 2 of the linkage a person made from Georgia that I'll be installing at a later date. They look very similar to the ones in the pictures. Haven't found replacement rubber bushings for the factory linkage yet.

Mines are round, not elongated, and didn't got a problem installing them. Tighter fit but still fit without problems. I guess laters got elongated. Sometimes some pieces must be assemblied loosen then tight here and there step by step piece by piece

U bushing to frame and Square rubber bushings on bar itself to rods must be pretty much similar to some other one. The bushings on top of rod links are exactly the same to the front sway bar rod links to K member

71-72 had round holes, 73 were elongated and a larger center hole for the iso bushings

well, 72s are way diff plates ( there is no 71s ), flat to fit straight over springs and not over isolators...they are all round

73 and lates are shaped to fit into isolators.

73 and lates are available in both, round and elongated. I have round on my 74, althought my setup was a recent add on ( used ). We have discussed on 3rd gen board sometime in the past about what it was the year for round and which one for eliongated but I can't recall.

please check the link I posted

there is no way to fit a 72 plate into a 73 and late setup.

I was making a simple statement that the brackets will fit the 71-72 axle configuration, not stating which year the brackets are from, sorry for that confusion. I was also saying that only the later years have elongated holes, no 71-72 arrangement. I have both versions of the 73-74 and the 72. Your link is a very complete description.

My RR is a Oct. 72 built car. The original swaybar plates have the elongated bolt holes but drivers side is bent and part of it is ripped so I switched to the other set I have that gave me all the trouble, they did not have elongated holes. I also have a set of 72's, those are a lot different as shown in the pictures above.

the good thing for us 73/74 guys is that style goes all the way to 79 and each year more and more cars came standard with rear bars.

the shock mount style changed to a stud mount type on the shock plate and the sway bar mount was also incorporated into shock mount. I have a sway bar complete off a 77 charger and I can use everything except the perch mount on my 74. you would still need the 73-74 mount.

If you do find some, let me know, I would like to get back to the factory setup since my aftermarket ones don't fit 100% and are shimmed up to make the bushings grab on bot the bar and the subframe.
