Some of you may know from another thread that I may be buying a 68 Superbee. If that happens, my 69 Coronet 440 4 door will have to go. It is a 318 automatic on the column. It is in mechanically really good condition, but will need body and paint at some point, or it can be driven as is like I have been doing.

I would love to hear any information anyone may have on the 4 door market. I did some research on this forum and generally online, and I just do not see many complete running cars for sale. Most everything I found is being parted out or something drug out of a field after 40 years of sitting there.

I LOVE this car. I really do not want to sell it, but I do not have storage to keep it inside. Here in southeastern Arizona, if you leave a car outside for any amount of time, you are dooming it due to sun and pack rats!!!

Need pics....I would say $2800.00-$4500.00 depending on the overall condition
Thanks for the info. I am asking about the 4 door market in general. I did not want to get the moderators on my case for making this seem like a "for sale" ad by giving too many details. I would be happy to PM you the info if that is ok with you.

Ok, I spoke with a Moderator and got approval to give information in order to get some idea of value, so here is some of what I have done to the car, what it needs and I will attach some pics.

The only reason I am selling the car is because I have the opportunity to possibly buy a 1968 Superbee and I do not have storage for both. Below is a list of some of the main spending I have done on the car, and other than the upholstery and the window service, no labor is included. I have kept a notebook of receipts, emails, etc which will go with the car. I have some pictures of what the car looked like when I bought it and what it looks like now. I also have this video on youtube: I was very close to having this car painted back to it's B3 blue (silver blue which can be seen under the hood and in the door jambs) when a 1969 big block 4 speed Corvette came in to my life from a friend who was planning to move and was not going to keep that car. The outer door handles, door seals, hood to cowl seal, trunk seal and remote mirror for the Coronet are new in the box. I got a good used set of drip rail molding and had planned to use which ever molding was better or to replace anything that got damamged coming off, all this also comes with the car. I have some maintenance receipts that go back to 1989 and the paperwork shows a replacement motor in 1997. I also have the broadcast sheet and owners manual. The car runs really well and the AC is excellent. I have driven this car around southern Arizona on 100 degree plus days with the blower on medium and was nice and cool. Also, the car does not overheat, not even close. There is a slight tick in the engine which is either a lifter noise or possibly an exhaust leak. The other main issue is that where the roof meets the sail panel, there is cracking on both sides. As best I can tell, the body looks pretty good. It does appear that there was some slight damage at the back of the driver side rear door, but you have to look hard to find it. The paint actually looks pretty good from 10 feet away. Here in Arizona, you have to keep cars under cover or the sun will ruin them, so when this car is not in my garage at home, it is stored in a 10x20 storage unit.

After market AC $1000
Hushmat floor and firewall kit $244
Headliner $185
Carpet and reupholster $600
Used bench seat $200
Aluminum radiator $400
Fan shroud $130
XHD leaf springs and bushings $238
Pitman and Idler arm $191
Ball joint sockets and 1 1/8" sawy bar $207
Lower control are bushings, torsion bar seals, tranny mount $113
Brake/bearings parts $400
New tires $400
New 15" police wheels $394
New triple chrome front and rear bumper $741
Inner door handles, arm rest bases, ash tray set $161
Exterior door handles, lock set, left remote mirror, door seals (new in Box) $475
Rear door seals $109
Used set of drip rail (in box) $208
All 4 doors serviced with new window channel and fastners $570
I have a hood to cowl seal and trunk seal also new in the box, but I cannot find a receipt for them
I also have the original bench seat/tracks that could be used for parts that can go with the car if you want them as well as the original bumpers that could be used as cores if you want them
I will also put all pics and documents I have on a thumb drive for you if you like

Buy a portable garage and keep it.
You WILL regret selling it soon after it is gone.

The guide is not perfect but it's pretty close.

Probably the best one out there.

yes otherwise it looks good.
I have a 68 Coronet SW I will be selling soon, I'll use that guide to get a value.
Thanks for the post.

Sell it now and you'll regret it later. Find somewhere, anywhere to store it.
I hear you man, I really do not want to sell it, but if I rent a third storage unit (if I can even find one), it would be costing me $400/month. That is more than I want to pay on storage fees. If I buy the Superbee, that would take some of the sting out of selling this one. My 4 door is in great condition barring body and paint, (even as it is, you can still drive it and get thumbs up) and I know I will take a loss on it. I spent on it like I did because I had no intention of selling it and I wanted it to be as nice as it could be for me. All was good till this one owner 68 Superbee with 55k original miles on it which belongs to a friend of a friend popped up on my radar. Ignorance was bliss, but now that I know about the Superbee, I feel like I need to buy it if I can.

I have a 64 Belvedere 4 dr listed on FBBO and I do not get much interest. Car only has 20,000 miles. I think the 4 DR market does not have much interest.

I think you are correct, and that is too bad. I have heard some rumblings that the 4 door market may change because too many people are priced out of the 2 door market. Well, if I buy this Superbee, I will advertise and see what happens. In some ways, I hope the Superbee falls through so I do not have to make this decision!!!

Nice car.
Build sheet looks like it was printed yesterday.
4 doors are gaining popularity but still under appreciated.

There was an article in the latest HCC about this subject.

I did not even know I had the broadcast sheet when I first got the car. Only later did I find it folded up in the owners manual. I thought a car with this level of repair and documentation would be worth more. I am not sure what I am going to do. I really do not want to pay another $130/month for the 4th car I would have in storage if I buy the Superbee. I will probably be selling the 1966 Dodge Utiline as well....we will see how it goes. Thanks to you all for your suggestions and information!

4 doors are still getting parted out to save the 2 doors. most people just aren't willing to invest a whole lot into a 4 door knowing that they will never really be worth much unless it's a factory hemi or 440 4 speed
