So as my boy and I were taking apart the bottom end , the oil pan pickup shaft going into the block like snapped clean off!!! I haven't a clue how to remove the threads inside the block any suggestions.

A pipe easy out
Or if good with a welder, weld a nut to it but it is thin so be careful

Newer style easy out with 1/2"-9/16" hex so you can really drive that sucker in and then use socket and ratchet set-up to turn out. I bought both male (that you need), and female ( for studs) from Matco for a decent price.

Thanks guys, I mean it just snapped off, are they that fragile ?

65 is that your car in your profile box? Of so could you post some photos bc shed beautiful !

If it's broken off flush with the block, you might be able to use one of those "reverse-twist EZ outs things" you can guy at part stores. They're maybe 1" long & have spiral threads. You screw them inside the pickup tube (need 3/8" or 1/2") & then a wrench/socket to turn them out. The more counter-clockwise you turn your wrench, the deeper/harder the EZ out thing grabs into the pickup.

If something is sticking out, then pipe wrench or vise grips or something & maybe the "blue flame wrench" to heat the block in that area.
