Anyone have any insight in to the 4 door market?

Taking this one (64) to Carlisle today to sell.

4 doors are still getting parted out to save the 2 doors. most people just aren't willing to invest a whole lot into a 4 door knowing that they will never really be worth much unless it's a factory hemi or 440 4 speed
I understand that, but I don't have to like it!

I don't think 4-doors from the mid '60's on (except wagons of course !!) will ever become "sought after" vehicles. Seems to me that body styles after the '50's/early '60's ended, just don't lend themselves to the 4-door treatment. '59 Fairlane 500's 4-doors were COOL ! '69 Fairlane 500 4-door, not so much. Chrysler eventually figured it out with the new gen Chargers. Make them look cool and people will want them and respect them.

If only Chrysler could eventually figure out how to make a two door Charger or 300 these days.

It wouldn't be a good marketing move to make a 2 dr. Charger. It'd cut into the Challenger market too much.

It would be nice if they could make a Charger that actually looked like a Charger kind of like how the new Challenger kind of looks like a classic Challenger....that might help a little. And what they were calling a new Superbee was pretty embarrassing to me. I am sure they were nice cars, but they did not have a hint of their namesakes looks.

I vote keep your 4-door and don't buy the Super Bee. You have a car you like and enjoy that's in sound mechanical condition.

Why change that?

I totally hear that, and you are right. It is just that I have wanted a Superbee my entire life, and the chance to have this one owner is too good to pass up. Plus, I am not getting younger, so time is becoming an issue. Hell, it may not work out anyway, but if it does, I think I will try and find a way to keep the 4 door, it is too good to give away with the market being what it is. Thanks for the feedback!!!

If you have to take a bath on the more door, at least find someone young with limited funds that wants to enter the hobby. They will appreciate your kindness for life.
I agree that life is short and buy what gives you joy if you can afford the purchase.

We just hired a new grad mechanical engineer. He wants a classic car, but limited funds. I'll run your car past him. Maybe a go fund me would help.

Good ideas both Bill!!! Let's see if this Superbee pans out. I don't know what he is asking for it, but I do know he turned down $17k some time ago. I am still waiting for a local buddy to go by and get pics and look the car over for me. My buddy Carl thinks $10k may be too much for this car, but I disagree due to the research I have done.

I will be of no help. ...zero.
But - I want to say that is a SWEET car......I'd rock that all day long!

Thanks Jeff! I do love that car and everyone says I should try to find a way to keep it, and I would if I had somewhere to keep it out of the harsh Arizona sun and away from the friggin packrats! I don't know how it will all shake out, but we will see how it goes!

If you have a wife and kids, or whatever, that is the perfect awesome family road trip machine.....memories just waiting to happen! !!!!

I hope you manage to keep it!

I have a 64 Belvedere 4 dr listed on FBBO and I do not get much interest. Car only has 20,000 miles. I think the 4 DR market does not have much interest.
Just SOLD my 64 4 door got more than I was selling it here for.

put a good quality trailer hitch on it and use it to trailer your new Super Bee to the drag strip.

I would love to find a nice clean 4 door B Body like your's for a fair weather daily driver.
