Anyone have any experience breaking into a locked glove box? I’ve never had the key. Tried going in through the rear hoping that the liner wasn’t there, but it is. Should I just admit defeat and go to a locksmith? Should I rip off that liner and replace it later?

65PS, does'nt the trunk key work like on my 64 ply. Dave

Glove box liner is much cheaper than a locksmith unless you know one personally that will do you a favor. A locksmith will probably have to drill it out anyway judging by the last two that I had to call for various other things on basic locks.

Just another option but I would by a lock pick set off of eBay (Now you will have the set for life), pick the lock which is rather easy and then take all the pins out and re-pin the lock to work with your existing trunk key. It is NOT hard at all and there are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it.
I bought a nicer Blue Point set at a pawn shop and was surprised at how easy it was to pick and re-pin the locks on my '69 - Good Luck!

You could try removing the hinge screws under the dash, then see if the door will lift up and pull out at the bottom. Never tried this, just a thought.

Yes, these locks are very easy to pick. Check out YouTube.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm going to try that!

Good for you! Now you also have a new life skill!

Check YouTube for how to open a padlock with a piece of aluminum soda can. You will never trust a padlock with your valuables again.

Great advice! Glad I read this thread. I learned something.....
