What are those things you look for when buying a used B-body Mopar and what are the things that make you either want to low ball the seller or walk away entirely??

Chrome in the engine bay (especially an air grabber air cleaner lid) makes me wanna hurl but I love the right “stance”.

Buy;
solid body is a must now
complete as possible is a must now
all the trim, majority of the interior & good grill etc.
#'s matching engine trans rear body etc. {affect value by 25%}
'if applicable to my project style', doesn't matter in many cases
all the little **** that's hard to find, helps
former documented racecar history {depend on the car/build}

possibility to negotiate a lower price;
is it a just a parts car ?
can I sell it piece by piece, for more than I buy it for ?
lots of good usable parts
lots of extra usable parts
lots of good usable go fast parts

walk away;
no title (depends on the sellers vibe), seems phishy or a scam
sitting in the dirt up-to the frame
among a hoard of cars for decades
rust everywhere
bad frame or bent frame front or rear
wet floors/moldy smell, interior or trunk
Donk rims & tires, 13" rims or Lowrider hydraulics
non-English speaking or incoherent or arrogant seller

never bought a car with mags on it.
must be complete, parts are way over priced.
Love original paint no matter how bad it is.

Cigarette butts in the ashtray.
Used rubbers on the floor.
Hypodermic needles under the seat.
Stuff like that.

I agree with Kern - the above things being present would make me reconsider a purchase of a potential muscle car. Period!

wires hanging from under the dash, toggle switches drilled into the dash , and the ever god forsaken .99 Walmart flat black spray bombed engine bay. , ,, although , there was a time or two they didn't know what they had...

Don't buy into sentimental stories. My weakness is slotted rims on fastback bodies. '66-'67 Chargers/Early fastback Barracudas. Know your weaknesses and don't be afraid to walk away if something doesn't seem right.

Buy- all the major pieces present, solid body and frame, prefer #s but not a deal killer, a good color combo (not green on green),tag and sheet preferred but just tag will be ok.
Walk away- any clone of any kind (keep it how it was born) frame rot, title issues (unless its a parts car),hacked up and molested, Ford, 4 doors, incomplete, green interiors, blue interiors.

I usually know what i want and am hunting for a particular combo. When i find the right one i just go for it. May spend a little over market for the right combo of colors and drivetrain combo.

Try to find them complete as possible. As said above,small parts cost $$. Complete 4 door cars cost way less than a 2 door and most all parts fit to complete your 2 door.

Wow. Have you ever actually witnessed needles & rubbers in a car for sale?

When they start talkin how much money they have in the car and then talk about how much the previous blown engines etc cost them. Well buddy, I'm not buying the blown up crap so how much do you want to sell this good pile for before you blow it up too?? At that point I'm throwing more gas on the fire so don't really care what I tell them from that point on.

I have to ask...has anyone seen a Mopar B-body with a LS, or any GM engine for that matter, installed? I thought that swap was only for Fords.
It happens more often than it should.....

There’s a grudge car named the hate tank it’s a 70 road runner, he never tells what’s under the hood but we have a couple mutual friends and I’ve been told it’s an LS TWIN TURBO

I would not have expected that to be an LS platform engine. Usually it’s BBC at that power level. LS at 1500hp up gets expensive.

I can’t say for sure but people that know the guy told me it is a LS. I’d bet if it is, it’s most likely the 454 LSX.
